The following are what I observed recently in P2 Maths:

She experiences difficulty in completing the questions by herself. The time: the traditional clock, the new language in telling time, the digital clock, the computation of time in different presentations. She made substantial mistakes in the worksheets.

Yesterday:

She lost the confidence and started to giving up to attempt the questions. Half of the worksheet left blank.

The most serious problem is she starts to feel disappointing about the need to doing Maths in English ....:cry:

真係好難，我個女都係點極都唔明，一次過教太多啦。根本佢到都未知發生緊乜事。

日日返來都好似冇上過堂咁

不用太擔心。
問題在於worksheet design, not the kids.
Worksheet 的問題變化太多太急，包含了多方面的思維模式轉換。
可試試把每類型問題分開學習。

But I think "time" is a part of our daily life. So, no worry, she will work it out one day! At first, my girl also has problem on this but I try to ask her "what is the time now" sometimes (of course at the time she likes to watch TV or at the time we are going to depart for ice-skating....) She shows interest and realy think before she answers!

其實開學時 Maths 老師都係話學『時鐘』係最難，所以我一開學時我已經同囡囡個 Enpoi maths 老師講，叫佢幫我兼顧下佢地學校 D Maths，點知個老師一睇 D 書就話最難都係『時鐘』姐！！！我囡囡已經在一個月前開始學『時鐘』，but 佢到而家都係一舊雲，都仲未 catch 到！！！擔心！！！

佢地真係乜都答得出，６：４０可以同我講４０點６分。完全係冇上過堂咁，過多個星期多啲就測驗啦，今次都係冇眼睇啦。

We spent sometime on the "time" at the extra holiday we had recently. She gradually pick up the translation between the oral form and the written form as well as some the simple calcuation. Things seems go well ...

Ha Ha! When I signed the mental yesterday, she got an "NI". She said she missed all the p.m. and a.m.
