今天才跟朋友說, 從去年開有留意, 都是幾個至10個左右選1個, 今年輪到自巳小朋友參選, 間間都話10幾至30幾位小朋友, 才選擇1個, 更奇怪的事, 從出生率作比較今年應比去年更少k3小朋友約1千名左右‧

I don't believe since in the past, lot of parents already spent huge amount for the education of next generation but in another form such as hire up as many private tutors as possible(eg. each subject for one 'expert'). Now, more middle class realized the important aspect is not the marks but rather how much knowledge their kids aquired during their childhood. In the future, you can expect more and more parents tends to private school since they can avoid even the nonsense local exam. (unless tens of years afterwards parents are not focus on marks anymore) ie. sucess of education reform evenually.

我猜是因為不少家長為子女報了很多間直資和私校大包圍(不是k3學生人數多了), 所以每間學校報名的人也很多, 但來來去去相信也是大約的一群人, 等學校收了先算, 到臨開學前應該會有不少waiting list的學生有機會上位, 因為相信同時俾多過一間學校取碌的學生家長會到最後一刻要決擇選其一時, 才會out返多出學位俾大家.
正如我也不止報一間學校啦!

我都覺多左人揀dss/private， 幾年前上網ｄ人多數都話揀三間左右（我都係）， 以家起碼揀五六間， 我諗都係同經濟好轉有關

I agree with you too.
I can see more and more of my parent friends, if they can afford the school fees, tend to switch to apply DSS/private schools so as to to avoid tackling with the heavy workload and pressure from gov't/subsidised schools.

我反而覺得同香港的教育制度有關.
時時改
令家長無法適重
K3 辛苦完一次, P6 又要再辛苦一次.
短短數年間己經要二次大抽獎,碰運氣.
如我有經濟能力,我寧願辛苦一次便算了.
可況,現在的家庭小朋友少,一個起二個止,
家長通常都願意放多些資源給小朋友.
打好基礎.
我們的年代,香港的大學只得2間,現在有8間.
你們説競爭如何?

自己都沾上教育界的車邊，也和一些教師、校長談起。
目前，政府傾向把持續性的教育資源放在中下水平的津校，band 1及大部份英中要靠直資和轉私立來爭/保地位，當然，家長也明白個中問題，返回回歸前的教育制度，但是社會的競爭更甚，所以，大家辛苦了。

Depends which DSS, many famous schools have changed to DSS or private - SPCC, DGS, DBS, Yin Wah, St. Stephen, St. Paul Convent ...etc, the competition among students are very keen.
For new DSS, then maybe it is more relax in the early few years of primary, but still have to be pushed for good results a few years later. If not, how can they survive?

都好有2間 Waiting list , 舊年有同學仔 2 間Waiting list ,
結果 7, 8 月 2 間都話有位. 佢結果要在 2 間取捨.

其實我覺得唔可以藉著interview定個小朋友渣唔渣,因為喺interview幾分鐘來決定佢叻唔叻,實在太唔公平,其實可能只喺佢未能在短短數分鐘表現自己嘅優點,我識有d小朋友又聰明又叻,但佢偏偏唔鍾意表現出來(在人前),如果呢類小朋友int的話,都好輸。不過如果您 waiting 個2間喺私校,就唔好太擔心,因在第二輪大抽獎後,有d私校都有位出番呢比waiting. 不用灰心, 加油

DSS quality are quite variable, you may see the reports post in Department of Education website, some DSS will definitely have seats after allocation.
