Hi

I think you have handed in the application form already. The covering letter in Chinese is fine. My son is study in Pui Ching and we did hand in the Chinese profolio.

Pls note you will spend a lot of time to stick with your child for his home work.

You will notice the student are difference than other school.

What's the difference between the students of Pui Ching with other schools?

If you are ready to spend time to work with her together. It should be a wise choice. They do not have a lot of homework. But their curriculum are so tough and teaching very fast.

But their student like to reading.

Also you can see how many Pui Ching student are working as professor in USA top university.

We would like our child can have a good Chinese after 10 years study in HK and return to USA for top university education.

由於我的女兒不是在培正就讀幼稚園,教要考進小學份外困難,一星期後便是面試的日子,不知你能否分享一下面試心得呢?

Hi Lauyl;

Pls note my son was not Pui Ching K's student too. If your child can be patient and reading in one hour, she can get 50% already. All depend on her answer. My son told me 3 years ago, the teacher just ask him how come you have been many countries than me.

Pls note my son was not bright enough than others. But we trust GOD will let him go to the school fit for him.

Pui Ching English is not easy. But his Chinese is much difficult than others school. Their math also is not that easy. But they can train the student has a good logical mind.

Pls also note they have many student uion in all over the world, especially in USA.

As you can see the CX recuirtment on yesterday, they are emphasis Manderine is most important language.

But most of HK parent is still looking for English school. This idea is out already. I can tell you if he stay in USA for 2 years, he can has an American accent already. No one like to list Hong Kong accent English.

Have you prepare your profolio. It is important. If she can reading in class is a must.

Please pray in God, he will provide everything to us.

Thanks for yr sharing.

Would like to know more about their English standard.  How they teach English as you mentioned it is not easy ?  I am very concern their standard because they are mainly teaching in Chinese.  Because not many family can support to send their children aboard.  Regarding Chinese, all they all subjects are taught by Mandarin.

Do you mind share more with me ?  Sorry for many questions.

HI Diamond Hill;

Pls note their English standard is more or less the same as other school or at least is higher than the book-store's additional exercise. As you can see how many student's parent are professor or doctor.

Their Chinese and all other lesson are teaching Cantonese.

Regarding to study aboard, it is not that expensive. Most of the student are working in U. I alway tells my kid to learn as much as you can. Like Cello / Piano / Taikwando / Swimming etc. You have to working your part-time job for your rent and food. You know, the piano lesson can earn US$60/ half hour. Some place has minimum charge too. How much you can earn in Macdonal is US$7.80/hr.

Pls note usually they do have place after first 2 months. As some of the student may change to international school after first month or some one may not able to handle the homework. Just keep trying.

其實我在交報名表時已一併把profolio交上,我的profolio 是用中英雙語的,不知是否恰當

Hi,

Don't be sad. My girl is also small. I let her to apply for P.2 this year. She is now succeeded in getting a place in this school. There are several students leave for some reasons every year. So do try next year.

I do agree that the Chinese subject is a bit difficult than other school. They need the student to think. The school teach English with story approach.Overall, they have a very happy learning envoriment. She has few homework and no pressure right now.

Thanks so much for your inform, which means that we can try to apply it in p.2, but the age is still younger than other children?? Others are 7 yrs old, and my daughter is 6 yrs & 10 months, still ok? If so, we will see.....

Hi;

Every year is difference. Acting as 6 years old, he might not able to expressed it well. My boy told me just reading a book. About 20 applicants in one room. They have to wait until all applicants has talked to the teacher. Which means you have to behave for 60 minutes. It is not that easy for a 6 years old kid.

Anyway our family love this school. But my younger son is attending HKBUAS. As he is not the type of Pui Ching.

Good Luck everybody on coming Saturday. I will bring my son to school for Cello class, see you.

培正會俾到你的孩子在數理方面的一級訓練，不過，要入理組唔容易，語文就要靠自己，中文要靠閱讀，英文？及格無問題，要讀寫良好，就要課外努力。據了解，不多校友會把孩子放回母校，或許我們有另一方面的考慮。

無論如何，是一所值得一試的好學校，不過學位不多，要有心準備。

培正只收足齡學童係幾十年的傳統，真正原因不詳。

買簿唔一定用英文，有時係阿嬸幫你，對她有難度。

We went back to USA on last Summer. I did let my sons to join the summer camp in North Carolina. They like them very much and they can handle it very well. They spent 2 weeks for the summer camp. They can communicate with the classmates and teachers very well. The summer camp is whole day long with lunch provided by school. The class was not limited in classroom. It's depend on the weekly topic, they were spend one day in science museum. My son love it as many things were new to him.

As you can see the English in Pui Ching is very good.

Last week I was in PUi Ching school, I saw the number of applicants were much more than 3 years ago. But the seats available is less than 3 years ago.

我老公係培正校友, 佢覺得培中係幾得o既, 雖然係中中, 係佢地一向都係考Syl B. 同其他學校一樣, 英文程度梗有參差, 不過叻o既一樣可以考到A. 所以都係睇自己.

我仔仔今年考培正幼稚園, 我唯一猶豫o既地方係培正小學係要學費o既私校, 點解你地反而想報培小?!

我們讓小兒去讀培正小學是他們能教導他成為一個有用的人, 其實英文是否左右我們挑選小學的決定, 我個人認為品德 / 自學 / 學習態度較為重要, 英文較為次要, 只要他花一兩年時間在美國上學, 便可以有流利的英文 , 再者有美國人口音.

培正有非常大的人際關係綱絡, 他們同學間各自認識 , 並不是各自各爭強好勝, 而是互助合作,這裏才是左右我們決定.

本來我們想給他到國際學校, 亦交了學費, 但因國際學校比較歡鬆開放, 而我們想他多一些紀律, 因中文在將來是非非常重要, 加上培正在美國有很多畢業生及學生會可以提供很多幫助, 您們想不到
這個重要性, 亦有一些大學認識培正中學, 再者他們的數學是非常利害, 這些都是我們決定因素.
