Dear all,

I want to apply this school "reception class" for my son,
can any parents comment on this school?
1/ is it good amongst other IS?
2/ how about the behaviour of the students in the canadian secondary school?
3/ how about the chinese standard?

Hate to say this... Really not a good school. Their culture is more like a "local" school. Especially the administrative senior staff. Very bad attitude.

May I know why you have such impression on this school?
Or you really do have bad experiences with them?
Actually, I do not know much about their admin staff, but I think that their teachers are very good, all kind heart. Especially those with the small children.
Besides, the school facilities and environment are also good, this is what we call a school really.
So far I am happy with the school.

But I am happy to see other views.

Sorry, I am interested in CIS Primary school. But, I want my son to learn Putonghua.

Are CIS teach Putonghua?
If yes, how's the standard?

The scool is teaching the Chinese in Putonghua, there are 7 lessons per week. The standard is about 1 year lower than its grade.

Hi Wonga,

Admin staff, xxx Pong, is so stuck up and treating parents like dirt. It happened to a few of my friends who enrolled at various times. We were not as lucky as you are. Had a horrible homeroom teacher. And the Chinese teacher was not good either. Overall impressions is...

We transferred to another International School already. CDNIS has a very nice campus though.

I totally agreed with "googagi".  The culture of this school becomes more and more "local" since the current principal
come.  He said we need to meet the requests from those
"new" student's parents (more homework, more test).
The other important reason why I transferred my kids to
another school is :

1) no matter the principal, staff or teachers, they will only
chat with those "rich families" and ignore other people.
2) standard of math is far below same grade from other
   IS.
3) teachers always come and go by two years (doesn't
   want to renew the contract)
4) wonder why school always employ husband/wife first,
then the other half will become the teacher later.
doesn't sure the other half is an qualified teacher or
not?

WANYING,

Can't agree more with you. Especially the fact that Axxx Dick (Exxxx Pong as well) only chats with rich parents. I have a friend who is a celebrity. They even let their kid to try the school for a few days to decide whether they like the school. So their kid spend a week there. At the end, my friend didn't like it there! Haha...
