my girl is now in P1 and recently she always mix up between the small letter b & d, she has the same problem when she was in K3.
any parents have any tricks/solution to help her (and me!)??

My son also has the same problem (P.2).

hi,

  唔駛咁擔心,我果仔以前都有發生,重有r同l都分辨唔倒,no eye see咗一排就無再發生!有時太緊張,返而令小朋友感到壓力,令佢重難記到!

My son's teacher teaches them to hold out both hands,
then both thumb hold up  (the expression of "Good");
you will see the left hand is "b", right hand is "d";
same apply to "p" & "q" when the thumb is pointing down.

But still, you have to let her always remember left comes first, so,

left  ---> right
"b" ---> "d"
"p" ---> "q"

Don't know if it works for you.

Try this

Assuming your kid knows the capital letter as well, then
"Bb" go together will make a story like this:
大肚媽媽(B)生咗個 bb 仔(女)!
Then the other side will be the d, it will be easier just to memorise one side.  I must admit it is no good but only as a temporary measure to help the kid to have better confidence.  As time goes on, s/he will learn by herself/himself.

thanks so much for all your solutions, they are both very easily to memorise, i shall try on my girl and i am quite confident that she should find them handy and hopefully i will see improvments in her english dictation.

my girl has this problem too.

I told her that a and d is similar.  memorize the word 'and'.

b looks like 6

try teaching this way...
daddy is a boy with a fat stomach in front just like this-->'b'

我女兒現讀小二也有這種情況,但之前做過有關讀寫障礙的測試,證實佢有輕微的讀寫問題,而主要是鏡面字的問題,你也可帶你的小朋友去做測試,港大兒童心理學系及衞生署都有此種測試可做,不過衞生署就要學校或者醫生紙轉介。

以前kinder 時老師用 "bed" 以個字教`朋友分 "b" & "d" , 佢係個 "bed" 上下都加1條線 , 大約如下,  

"b-e-d "   

同小朋友講床頭(行先)係 b  , 床尾係後面跟住果個係 d

她用了圖像記憶. 都好似work ar .
