I guess some candidates refused the 2nd interview. So
the school has vacancy for the kids in the waiting list.

咁奇怪﹗點解會有後補信？已經有300人啦﹗再由 300人內再選 150人, 如要後補, 應該會在另 150人內再搵合心水的補上？咁您是幾時 in 的呢？

2nd in 都未見，咁快有後補位？300個收一半，唔收果150算唔算waiting哩？還是無得2nd in 都全部係後補呀

Are you sure you have read the letter correctly? If you have received the same one I have, it's a rejection letter, not waitlist letter.

邊有後補呀! 今日收到英華的通知函 (部份內容如下), 都好明顯係叫人唔好叩門啦:

如有申請人放棄學位, 將由候補生(獲邀參加第二輪面試的申請人)填補空缺, 家長毋須向校方再次遞交申請表或個人學習檔案.

I have received some sort of this letter today. The letter says if there is any vacancy coming up, the vacancy will be filled up by the waiting list (i.e. applicants who have been invited for the second interview). As my son was not invited, it is clear to me that it is a rejection letter = no hope.
