用併音 (phonics) 去記, 唔好死背個字!

拆開一句句黎背。
搞惦一句先背另一句，
全部背惦再試成段背默。

Some kids are always dirty while others are clean.

We each have a different name,
How boring if we were all the same.

呢段默書,我個女用左10分鐘都背唔好頭四句,之後我叫佢每佢搵兩,三個key words, 用張左寫低d key words, (我有分開第一句一行) 叫佢睇熟d字, 再全篇讀,佢之後再用左15分鐘就背晒喇!

所以呢個方法真係幾好.你都可以試下.

My steps are:

(1) Let the kid read aloud the passage, for as most as 10 times.
(2) Help the kid to understand the content of the passage (parents may explain the passage in Cantonese).
(3) Read aloud again, but this time, with the help of hand gesture or facial expression.
(4) Encourage the kid to recite the passage -- BIT BY BIT. While the kid is reciting it, parents by his side and prompt him with hand gesture or facial expression.
(5) Praise his effort of reciting.
