我有疑問,舊年女女係P3時,個EA同我講,淨係我地個班教
"IB",而個老師係要有資格才能教的. 但係其他家長係呢
個站就話KJS己開始"IB"system,我想問係 Rose St.呢
邊.係唔係全部轉晒 or only a part of it like last year
my daugher class did

.另外P4.5.6 , they need
helper in the class or not?

I thought the IB program is confirmed already and the whole KJS junior is undergoing PYP (Primary Year's Program). My son is in P.4 now, and I still have communication with his P.1-2 classmates' parents. Seems like every class is working in a different pace (except for the must-do projects and topics for that particular grade). Some classes have dictation words and homework given out the 1st week of school. So far, my son has homework brought home starting the 2nd week, but no dictation. It really depends on the classteacher. Last year was a difficult year because we had an aggressive teacher.

P.S. My son said they do have an EA class.

My boy is in P1 this year. Grateful if you would provide the following information:

When do they start learning Chinese Pinyin?
Will they learn English grammar at all? If yes, how do they learn it?

Don't know when they start Pinyin cause I don't follow closely my son's progress in school.
Whereas for English grammar, I remember I've seen my sons doing worksheets related to present/past tenses, differnt kinds of verbs, nouns, adjectives........ Not too sure in detail. He does all work by himself.

My daughter has just transferred from Bauhinia School to KJS Yr 4 this year. Up to now, only 2 weeks, I've already discovered that there are big differences between two.

At KJS, I feel more demanding. I heard from my daughter that no matter of Mandarin or Maths, they are grouped by their ability. The assessments have been done. What do you think?

Yes, I've heard from my son that they have done an assessment in order to put them into groups of the same level. I guess this is good for them. The not-so-smart ones need more attention and the really smart ones will not be pulled back.

In Bauhinia School, students are also divided into different teaching groups according to their abilities in Chinese and Maths. It has always been like that in upper primaries. It is not different from KJS.

I am a mom who plan to send my kids to IS. May I know if Chinese is a compulsory topic to learn in KJS. And do they learn traditional or simplied Chinese writingin? How do you like the school?

Yes, Chinese is compulsory. In P.1-3, only twice a week, but starting P.4, they have it daily. They use simplified characters. Cannot tell if it's good or not because my son just started daily Mandarin. However, I've been sending him to Kumon Chinese for over a year.
