[因小朋友正處於發育時期，如不是近視又配戴了眼鏡，在這時期的確會影響眼部的發育，如眼球大小、弧度等，嚴重的假近視變成真近視！愈早患上近視的小童，會影響他們成長後近視的度數會愈深。

Last two weeks, he went to have a eye sight test and the doctor said he got 250 degrees?

But he can read and watch properly.  Only the smallest words cannot see. Is it sevious?  His dad wore glasses at Primary one only 120 degrees, buy not he got 1000 degress?  I am afraid that he will got 2000 degrees while he is 20 yrs old???

For me, I got 50 degrees and wore glasses at 15yrs old, then 50 degrees more every years.. Now I got 450 degrees.  I dont belive that wearing glasses is helpful than other methods for training eye sight.  In fact, one kids wear glasses, the optical companies will got a customers for coming 10-50 years.
My dad told me we can train our eye everyday when we read a small words far and far for eye training.

Wearing glasses is so trouble when swimming, playing football......all sports.  May be I will ask my uncle to have a laser operation.  I think he like wearing glasses so he told me to buy a pair of glasses for him all the time.

Any honours optical specialist do you know?
Any eye training centre in HK.

Hi NichoB,

As you noted already, there is a conflict of interest among the different professionals when it come to what should be the right way to treat eye problems.

Personally, I think vision therapy or eye exercise could be an alterate solution but obvisouly that is not the main stream approach today. Its effectiveness may varies a lot depending on individual cases. I tend to believe that when the problem is "small", vision therapy could be a better choice as it really cure the problem for the long run. in addition, a good habit of eye exercise would do you good for your whole life.

You may contact PolyU eye clinic. They do have some vision training services.

I think the professionals working in PolyU are 視光師。If kids have eye or eyesight problems, it is better to seek advice from an eye doctor. Checking degrees of myopia or 配眼鏡才是找視光師。For total eye problem, should find a doctor instead. The effectiveness of so called vision therapy and eye training exercise are still not well-tested. Wrongly prescribed eye exercise or training will over-strained the eyes and gets undesirable consequences.

我姐姐則屬遺傳性近視,由小學已須配戴眼鏡,每年驗眼一次,眼科醫生會跟進她的個案,直至她發育完及加深近視的速度減慢和隱定,則每年去該診所所設的視光部驗眼。(她由7歲350度至現在1000度,而1000度(應在1100度內-因隨著成長有輕微加深)這度數而保持了十多年)而視光師會安排最適合你眼球的眼鏡或隱形眼鏡(唔止硬和軟兩種)給你以防近視再加深。而當中醫生和視光師都會因應你眼睛的問題而作出建議。

激光矯視至今仍未知其後遺症及手術始終會有風險,個人不太贊成讓一個6歲的小朋友接受此項手術。

I found that my maid didnt turn on the light while he was doing his homework in day time.  Also the desk is too small for him now.
He face goes down and down on the desk.  May be I need to change a his desk now.

Any desk is suitable for a primary students.  My desk is too high for him.

Last night, I started to give him an eye test.  I gave him a sheet of paper with the smallest words as a newspaper.  He read under a white light and I asked him to find the same words and count how many.  He said all the words are same in 50 columes in a few seconds.  Do you belive that he got an eye sight?

Today, I will type a paragraph and test him again to make sure he got a lazy eyes or real eye sight!!!

So funny on his eyes, he love yellow eye glasses and bet me to buy for him while we went to SOGO at TST last tow months.

When he want to buy a car, he never ask you to buy. Just say I dont have this model.  Then you will buy for him.
At first , he will give you an offer , not order.  Afterthat he is waitng for your counter offer and make a deal finanaly.
He is a good negotiator.

My brother's 3 kids who only got 50-100 degrees, they need a pair of glasses now. They found that good looking so the love to wear. one is wearing blue, other is black, another is pink.

My boy likes yellow.

my son has same problem. I start to wear the night contact lens for him now. the doctor said that will slow down 近視增加. Of course there is risk as well.

I think you'd better let you kid wear glasses, otherwise, he/she will get used to the blur vision.

In the meantime, make sure your kids wears them all the time, which can help to improve the situation.

小朋友咁細個就要戴眼鏡, 真係好無耐, 諗返自己都係咁, 真係好想自己小朋友千其唔好有咩眼部問題, 我而家就學緊一個視力班, 會用氣功同飲食去調整, 繼而改善返視力, 我要努力做套功先得, 因為其中有一個同學, 佢都過40架啦, 當初一隻眼600度近視, 令一隻就475度, 而家經過左3個星期, 佢好勤力咁跟住做架, 而家600度隻眼 -- 600->500->475->450, 令一隻 475->450->425->400, 漸漸兩隻眼拉返近, 平衡返添, 我都要勤力d先得.

個醫師好忙, 好耐先開一班, 而家聽講有最後一班, 之後就唔知幾時再開啦.

When my son got 100 deg. My husband told me he got 100 deg. when he was in secondary school but he did not wear glasses, hence, he did not get any worse. His advice is not to wear glasses. I took his advice; my son does maintain his 100 deg. for two years, then, when my son turned 11 year, his school work became a lot heavier, his eye sight got worse to 200 deg. I started worrying, hence, I borrow a lot of books from library, varying from Taiwanese author, Japanese and European authors. Their main method is to do eye training. massage and all of them have mentioned the "plus len" can help preventing near sight. I started trying those methods, it does have some improvement; however I cannot do it in a systematic way. Then, I was referred by a lady in BK an eye vision training workshop. It did work very well to my son, he now is around 75 deg within a month. I applied the method to myself, I now improve my near sight from 300/250 to 225/175 deg.
I knew this is hard to believe, I do not want to do any promotion for anyone, however, this experience does happen to me and my relatives, it is possible to improve my eyesight. My nephew applied the method, he is 12 years old, he improves his near sight from 400 to 225 deg within 2 days.
I would like to say before we say it is impossible, do some research by yourself; you would not believe how popular the eye sight regaining clinics are in Japan/Taiwan.

I knew they are going to have a workshop in end Aug. However, I must stress that you better do your own research and read through their information from the web site before you try it. As this is really a new concept to most of the HK people, I do not get any support from any "professionals" when I told them this concept. However, since I have a strong believe that near sight can be cured, so I go for it ang got a very impressive result for me and my son.

半年前囡囡六歲兩個月帶佢去理大護眼 polyvision 驗眼, 250度近視+50度散光, (我地兩個都深近視) 當時好驚佢咁細個帶眼鏡. 試過時帶時唔帶, 朋友 & 驗光師都話唔好. 一直帶左半年, 佢都習慣左.

最好去多幾間驗眼

宜家驚細仔三歲半都有近視 (每日繼繼續續睇 DVD 同上網四五個鐘)

I have two examples here.

My son believes this concept from the beginning, so he actively did the string exercise every 2 hours for two days, he immediately got down his to 130 deg.; then he did not do it for two weeks because I was on business trip, then, we re check his condition, he still maintained at 130 deg. ( I bought the book, hence, we started doing the string exercise before we went to the workshop) then, after we attended the workshop, he became active again for another two-three days (eye chart exercise), now he improves to seeing the third last line in 3 meters. (one more line to go for perfect eye sight!)

However, my nephew was very lazy, simply he did not believe his 400 deg. could be cured, he did the string exercise two times a day, but only two days in a week, he kept wearing his 400 deg. glasses hence, he did not see any improvement (also it happened before the workshop). When he attended the workshop, he got the measurement on the string, he already improved to 320 deg without noticing it by himself, then, he wore his 300 deg. glasses to view the eye chart, he got crystal clear vision in 3 meters, then he believes in it, he did the exercise very actively every one hour, the next day when he came back to the workshop, he improved to 225 deg. and then in this weekend, he further improved to 166 deg!!

Since your kid had done some exercises already, I suggest you can ask her to wear her old spec., if she find she can see clearly with her old glasses, it could be an encouragement to her to do the exercise more often.

其實她的度數不是很深, 只有150度, 我希望她能用餘下的日子能練到九月番學時可以看到黑板就好啦!

I'M HAPPY TO HEAR SOME METHODS ARE WORK FOR KIDS. MY SON WEARS GLASSES WHEN HE IS 6YRS OLD (100DEG) NOW HE IS 10YRS OLD AND HE NEEDS TO CHANGE GLASSES EVERY YEAR BECAUSE NOW HE GOT 350DEG. I SEE THE VISION WEBSITE BUT CANNOT FIND ANY HELPFUL INFM. DO I NEED TO GO TO THE WORKSHOP WITH MY SON AT FIRST TIME? MY HUSBAND AND ME ALSO GOT OVER 300DEG AND MY YOUNGER SON GOT 75DEG DURING THE CHECKING LAST MONTH, HE JUST 6YRS OLD TOO.

ALSO I WANT TO KNOW THAT IF HE DOES THE EXERCISES EVERYDAY. DOES HE NEED TO CHANGE THE GLASSES BECAUSE THE DEG WILL HAVE DIFFERENCE.

I make 10 papers of words (chinese & english) and stick them on the walls , doors, bedrooms.  I hope he can read them at home and try to see as far as he can.

I though he also writes on the desk, read in a short distance all the time.  So he never see far away.  I will write the words smaller and smaller.  Let him try at home alone.

Hope it can help him to reduce the eye sight degrees.

So worried!

My anut told me that we boil some chinese lungnan with "red seeds" soup - it is good for eyes.

I got 475 degrees during this 10 years.  Let me do the test with him. hahah

我想了一個辨法,不防一試:
我做一張A4紙,字滿生字,貼在當眼地方,如房問口,客廳,讓小朋友看到.定期更換把字體縮細,等他們慢慢習慣看遠些.
考考他們,讀到生字有獎.
提高他們的視力,
減少看電視,不超過十五分鐘.
每天早上閱讀報紙,因字體夠細.
看看三個月至半年後有否進步.
我父教我看書時,試把書向前向後,使訓練眼球視線距離.
從小控制,看遠又得,看近又得.
他少年時有近視,帶眼近現在巳減退了,又沒老花,很神奇!
真要學習一下!

小兒在8月頭亦有參加由Leo所舉辦的workshop,起初都是半信半疑,但此套exercise真是有效,小兒已有300度以上近視,但現在亦可摘下眼鏡.其實2年前小兒已開始載正視鏡,但近視亦有加深,看電視,黑板及琴譜都要載近視鏡,真想不到短短1至2天時間已不用載近視鏡,現在他只是載正視鏡來舒緩眼睛的疲勞.而他本人亦很有信心堅持每天做Leo所教的眼部運動,終有一天可達到perfect eye sight.

I attended the adult workshop; and started the training, I could see clearly with a 150 deg. glasses while I was 300 deg. originally, I went to check my eye on the machine, it still showed 300 deg. however, since I knew what i can see, I insist to get a new pair of glasses at 150 deg. I knew there are many examples that people cannot check it from the machine immediately, I believe the machine only based on certain elements to check, it may not be able to detcct this improvement. However, I trust what i can see (my eyes), rather than the machine telling me what to do. In fact, I check with different machines, the deg. varied by around 50-75 deg. so it is really our choice to trust the machine or our own eyes.

當時唔係只用機驗,小女仲用唔度數鏡片驗,仲驗埋色盲......

我覺得係個視光師本身問題,又唔係配眼鏡就是但CHECK,睇住佢驗眼時求求其其,對小朋友態度好差

所以叫你地小心,希望不會遇人不熟

I only read the information from the following website:
www.vision-training.com. This website is provided by one of the bk mom. I have not made up my mind to join the workshop because its cost is very high, $2,500 for individual kid and $2,200 each for group of 3. If I join I will choose 21 & 23 Aug at 2-5 p.m.

I am not sure. They only say that if three kids apply together can get a discount. You can call their office at 2834 9038 to check. They say afternoon class only have 21 and 23 Aug. However, I cannot attend the morning class. Otherwise, we can join together to get the discount if we can group three kids together.

2) Masha your eyes everyday.
3) Drink some soup which is good for eyes. Eat more carrot and herbal tea.

Only $38 in Book shop. In the first page of the book, it attached a piece of eye test paper and I stick it on the wall. Let him test his eye everyday.

He must study in his room with white light plus lamp. Like in an office. I think he has some improvement. Ask him to look far words on the wall.

你第一次幫小朋友配眼鏡時, 可以加條眼鏡繩掛頸, 防止其他小朋友碰撞時, 眼鏡飛脫下來, 等小朋友習慣後可以除下眼鏡繩....

因為有遠視既關係 , 左右眼各 3 佰幾度, 未睇眼科前, 我囡要集中焦點黎睇, 對眼好似變左鬥雞眼, 配眼鏡後, 可以糾正番對眼, 類似鬥雞眼沒有再出現
