However, I am disapointed that the 中文科用普通話教 will not be applied in P.2-6. It just start from P.1. Are you ready to face the coming days of p2 and yr son/daughter also?

Hi千紅 , Could you pls tell us what is name of yr son's Secondary school. I am afriad whether my son could study in English secondary school in the future. Also, I am afriad whether their English standard is enough to compare with the others. Of course, it should depend our son' standard also but I always think that if we provide not enough to him, he will learn less than others. Sometimes, I think it should not give him preasure. During chlid period, they should learn in happy environment to enjoy the life as they will under very high preause in the future.

You are very nice. My English skill is "Ma Ma Ta". Still need to learn....and learn. I have try my best to let him know the interests in English but it is not easy as this is not his mother langurage. I never speak English with him during his BB time.
How do you teach yr son and daugther in learning English? Could you share yr exprience? Which secondary school will be choosed for yr daugther, same as yr son? Could you tell me the name of the secondary school?

My idea also is same as you. So, I worry my son could not achieve the level although he still in P2. You said that only depend on this school for the English subject is not enouch. So, do you have provide them another course for yr daughter & son?

講起教小朋友的經驗，我或者比你們多一點點，我有少少心得和大家分享。最主要培養他們愛英文，我兩個子女都很喜歡英文，這是我從小培養出來的習慣。
我從3嵗之前，經常和他們一起聼錄音帶學習英文單字，聼得多自然會讀，他認識的字多，學校的課程對他們來説，實在太淺了。考試也很有信心。
直到現在，他們自己都喜歡看英文書，大子每星期都在看Time Magazine .

Agreed! I want to be a 師奶 too but I cannot. So, I must sprare time to share with my son although I feel tired after worked. Especially, I would like to talk with him before he sleep everyday. It is very useful to strengthen the communication between us. I strongly agree that 陪者孩子長大 is very wonderful matter. I enjoy it very much.

"做師奶" 和 " 陪者孩子長大" 相信每個媽咪也想做,
但基於很多原因, 而選擇了做"在職媽媽"

我相信你們都是好媽媽，無論在職或是做師奶，只要時間安排妥當，你子女的成績也不會差。
我習慣了陪子女讀書，玩音樂。即使現在做OL，也盡量早點回家陪孩子。雖然他們都大了，但是仍然很喜歡我坐在他身邊聼他彈奏。

對於兩間學校的比較，我個人會比較喜歡信義會，他的中學派位成績不錯，我兩個子女都讀得很開心。大部分老師都很有責任心。
至於教學方法，學校每年都在轉變。我的子女只是相差兩年，但是功課已經有很大不同。現在比較重視思考，搜集資料，有時也需要父母的參與。小一也開始用普通話教中文，我覺得這是一個很好的轉變。
功課的多少很似乎個別學生，我覺得可以接受。如果有能力入到精英班的話，中學都派得很理想。

Then, I am happy my son could study in here. 小一開始用普通話教中文，It is good but my son could not enjoy this as he is already P.2. How to teach yr childs to learn English? Yes, I am a working mom. How about you?
Actually, I am still hesitating to choose 信義會, 黃永樹 & 宣基 in the first stage of 自行收生 that we need to submit the form to the school in next week.
Frankly speaking, the performance of 黃永樹 is good but it seems very high-push to the kids. The approach of 宣基 is quite similar to the kindergarten of my son. Its result of 升中派位 is so far so good but it just reserves 25% of 宣基中學學位 to the primary school section. Also, my husband feels the school is old comparatively speaking...
I am so shame that I still do not visit 信義會 since I cannot catch the schedule of 參觀日 on last Saturday. Howver, I have visited its website and the impression is quite good overall speaking.
Could you give me some opinions? Thanks!

I am also working mami.
My 1st concern is whether nearby my home, so for
Hang Hau area only 2 choices, that is
信義會 & PLKFC. They are quite good compare with others. I did not to choice PLKFC because I am afraid that it wil
assign many homework for them.
至於黃永樹 & 宣基都是多人choice.
黃永樹 is PLK group, whether change to 直資
in the near future.
The above is just my own opinion.

在這裡和你分享一下學習英文的經驗吧。
我的英文程度很普通，平時在家也很少用英文會話。我會和孩子看英文的課外書，看簡單的英文報紙，有不懂的生字一起查字典，利用錄音帶訓練他們的聆聽能力，每人輪流大聲朗讀一段文章。我很推薦學校的英文每日一篇，你可以和他一起做。考試之前讓他看一些關於英文文法的書，和做一些練習。我每個星期有一位補習老師來家裏跟他練習英文。
我很興幸現在大子的英文程度比我還好，已經不需要我呢。
現在反而會跟他們練習普通話，因爲我覺得很重要。以後他們要跟大陸的學生競爭的。

I just met an unhappy experience from 黃永樹.
I phone to the school to consult about the school bus service. When I told him that I live in Sai Kung, they said "NO SERVICE" at once. I requested him to help me to check if possible. He just replied that "I give you the phone no. of the school bus company for checking or you can take the bus to our school...." The attitude is not very friendly and I feel frustrated at once

No homework in K1 but started from K2. They need to write Chinese, English letters and numbers. Not just homework but the students also need to write some in class as well. Therefore, the students have 2 homework books.
In K3, they start to write 詞語 and numbering. According to the teachers, the students will have the ability to write some simple sentances in second semester of K3:D

Hello all,
Long time not come in talk with everyboday, how are u??上星期六小一已開家長會, 在我由呀女Ｋｌ開始留意這學校發覺有很大的轉变亦得到政府好大的support, 第一是在英文堂從前只有在3年級開始先有foreign Teacher 教授英語, 在今年的小一已有外籍老師教授英語. 再者就是中文在下學期開始為小朋友普通話授課及默書, 使到小朋友左鞏因普通話得到協助.
呀女開咗學差不多四星期了, 我呢個呀媽由拿手不成勢到現左everything ok. 呀女的小一生活又覺得很開心. 真係感恩!各位今年選這間學校讀小一的媽媽, 如果有興趣想知道多些資料可以pm我, 在人普盡能力提供多些資料架

考試之前我會讓他輕鬆一下，只是默一些生字，如果太緊張，他的腦會很實。分析能力不夠。主要還是靠平時。
子女小的時候，我會每天晚上固定用一個小時來溫習。関掉電視，很寧靜、集中精神去做事。現在就比較彈性，任由他玩音樂，還是看書，就是那一個小時不能看電視。

Actually, the competition is still keen. I saw most applicants also having brother/sister studying at this school since they have the first priority....
But I met the principal today and she is very nice and gives me a smile....
