I could only comment base on my three months MS experience in the following aspects:
Academically, they stress very much on language , both Chinese and English. Through reading books, my son already recognise many Chinese words and English phrases. NET support is very sufficient , total 18 in total.
However , you better compare the syllabus of other kg vs MS, to see the particular difference between the two.
Self growth of the kid: they require the kids to be very independent with high ability of self care and initiative in learning. My son is quite slow in taking care of himself, thus I really receive phone call from the class teacher reminding me to improve his capability to take care of himself, like to put on the jacket, open up the snack box by himself. This is quite surprised to me as my son always receiving good compliments from the teachers when he was PN class. I was quite upset at first but later I think this is good that the teacher genuinely give me feedback on his weakness with her goodwill.
By then, the teachers still be generous in giving my son a good report in the first development assessment.
School parent cooperation: demand here is quite big, weekend parent child tasks , the readathon, preparation of the show and tell for your kid.....
This require some commitment from the parent , some lazy parent may not like it.
Christianity: apply bibles saying in daily teaching of the kids
Apparently, the high chance of promotion to MS primary school is very attractive, especially with the dragon bb which the competition is very keen. However, the low birth rate of year of snake may let your son has higher chance for getting some primary school even better than MS.
As far as I know every year, some smartest kids from MSKG, can get places in YW, TSL, CKY, 聖芳濟各，GH。
I believe choosing MSKG is a choice of 退可守，進可攻。 |
