有冇用家可以分享下？見這所小學好像比較少人提及，我女兒已面試了多間LS小學，不是waiting list 就是rejected, 只有兩所小學取録，但不是我們杯茶。

好仔細分拆過LS and IS 的 pros and cons, 我自己在traditional 名校畢業，我唔buy transitional 這一套，好想女兒入讀IS, 但老公又覺得local 有 local 好，簡直係人生交叉點。

我們考慮ESF schools 原因，因為學費雙對地比其他IS 可以effort 到，research 才知道ESF 分不同區域，要事乎住所location, 所以只有KJS我們才可以apply.

想知道多D關於KJS 嘅資料，例如收生，什麼人比較多，本地或外國，升中會在什麼學校，老師有沒有愛心，工課，學術，家長參與及小朋友喜歡這學校嗎？

Have you applied already? Are you talking about Year 1 entry? If you have missed the deadline you will automatically be put on a waiting list.

Hvnt apply it yet and the deadline seems to be end of the month and i called the sch, already hve 200 ppl on waiting list.

Any comments for this sch? I wanna to know more, thanks.

I am sure the regular application period for year 1entry has alreqdy passed. And esf will send out invitation for interview nextweek. you will be placed at the end of the list for if you turb in applicatiom now, hence chances to get an intervuew is very low. Why dont you try in year 2, 3.

I think you are talking about year 2 admission, right?

KJS is one of the most competitive primary among ESF. This zone is broad and populated with Indian students, esp in Kowloon Tong.

School is great with new campus. Very impressive!

Yes I believe the campus is the most beautiful and equipped one among other primary ESFs. Some classes have over half of the students are Indian. And the students most probably will be upgraded to KGV in grade 7.

Should be a good school, BTW ESF has lost government subsidy so the fees will be going up in the future, and which kinder are your kid studying in now? One needs to achieve fairly good english levels on order to to pass the interview.

Yes, I checked that too, but still relatively cheaper then many IS.

My b is now studying in traditional well known kinder in kowloon tong. I think her English is slightly over average but I won't say is fluent as native.

If u are not planning to buy the nomination right plus your kids don't have priority, I don't think your kids have chance for interview. With 200+ waiting list, you have to wait for many years...

不如我答你，我小朋友讀緊year 5.
首先，70%學生有外國護照，印度學生佔多過50%，佢地好多已經係第二，三代住香港（佢地父母之前都係讀ESF). 其如有日本，韓國，英國....
升中跟catchment zone, 一係去KGV, 一係去island school (2017年會拆，原址重建，之後就係好似KJS 甘，又大又靚）
至於教學，好老實如果你想好似LS 甘，就一定好失望，因真係好少好少功課，有時一份project , 一星期後交。普通話亦比較弱，學簡體字。小朋友日日放學後真係可以不停玩。
老師大部分都有愛心，同小朋友打成一片，所以有家長會覺得老師唔夠嚴/惡。
家長都好清楚學校教咩！小朋友普遍都愛閲讀，比較獨立，會自己上網搵資料做功課，有點有注意，比較多後生嘅女老師，所以成日都會聽到某班主任放產假。

suggest you to have a personal visit after school ard 3-4pm and you can check out the students'' language ability and the school environment...

My son is in Year 2. 1/3 of class is Indian, 1/3 chinese and 1/3 Japan, Korea, western. He has mandarin class daily, 45mins per lesson, simplified Chinese, using Singapore grade 1 textbook, chinese writing is required in class, also dictation of words in textbook ( parents wouldn't know the time, just my son told me after that), also a free writing handbook, they can write whatever they like and hand in whenever they want. They also have a reading book daily and required to write comment.
Teachers are nice and able to spot the needs of kid, academic-wise, I feel it is higher than I expected, I see my son and his classmate would raise their hands before talking which impressed me.
So far, my son likes his school very much.

So will you plan to send your boy overseas later or will stay in HK for university? May I ask why u choose KJS? And have they meet your expectation? Does parents need to involve a lot when kids are assigned to go projects/coursework?

I went there for a visit over weekend and love their campus, since I'm a working mom, it's not easy for me to arrange sch visit over weekdays but thanks for ur suggestions, perhaps I shall trytry
