上星期幼兒園開放日，playgroup 老師主動向我说女兒(2 yrs old)很smart, IQ level 已到K1, 英文說得已很流利，老師说她刻意給她較難的task, 女兒也可以做到，雖然有時女兒好像不用心听，但其實女兒multi task 中，然後做番个答案出來。老師说女兒不有時用自己方法找答案 or complete task。老師叫我给她多些challenging tasks to her (K1 level activities), and teacher said my daughter has ability to handle it or she will get bored.

Teacher said she.might be "gifted", and i should be aware of her development...

Belows are my gal's characteristics:
1) can stand when 7 month old and walk freely by 1 year old
2) too active to run around, cant stay long for eating
3) no need to sleep to much, but stay up late to play
4) know a hundred english words around 1 year old, can use complete sentence when 18 month, communicate like an adult by 2 years old (fluent in english, good in cantonese and several songs in putonghua)

5) just discover she can recognise both chinese characters( around 50 )and english words (over hundred words) without pictures beside

6) any questions, what is it and that, what you are doing, where (since 18 month), why and because (2 year old)

Around 20 month old (cant recall exactly), she said "the bus is driving backwards" when we sat on bus in opposite direction (坐倒後車)

When we.played with her hopscotch (跳飛機)，with number 1 to 8 written on mats....she asked me when was number 9...and when i nearly answered her, there were no number 9, she turned around and pointed to 6 (6倒轉看是9), and said "there is number 9!!"

And she likes.to play with letters by twisting around, saying "W" and "M"....

2 year old, when she saw a cat with a long tail and she said "does everyone has a tail?"

6) she likes to play with elderly kids

7) like to do it by herself (like brush teeth, u cant touch her brush)

8) 固執: when around 15 month old, when i taught her "gold", she said what she thought "yellow" and repeated her "correct" answer after everytime i said gold....of course 1 or 2 days later, she would self corrected as Gold

9) learn quickly: mostly can remember after i have taught her one or two times and.use the new word or concept after that

Can.use words like "already", "can i", " i am.not sleepy and wide awake"

10) love and concentrate on reading, learning new things, and mostly answer my questions once and will not answer my repeated questions (i need to wait next day to ask again"

11) love to make jokes (saying daddy is a girl, and laugh) , of course she knows the correct answers

12) doesnt like to walk on sand, cant stand with a dirty hand

13) she loves spelling and keeps asking me how.to spell this and that since 22 months

14) she loves to make up her own lyrics with a familiarised song....

15) good observer: i was amazed that she picked up a card showing a picture of a "dress", and she kept finding a card showing a picture of "妹妹“ and matched 2 cards together and i just realised that 妹妹 in picture was wearing the exact same dress as the card of "dress"

您擔心什麼呢?

這裡沒有人能給您答案，就按您現在的方法培育吧，等到七八歲之後再做test看個清楚。(如屆時有需要)

兩歲孩童不應只發展學術認知，還要留心她的社交技巧、對其他人事萬物的關懷、健康身心等，太早催谷，好快榭。

Thanks alot for your reminder, Radiomama...
My concern is not whether to 谷 her more...my concern is i should let her study international school or local...it seems that it would be better for gifted kids studying at international school.
And because of this factor, i need to think about if i should have 2nd bb now, as it would be quite expensive to raise 2 kids, and at least one kid needs to study at international school and overseas later whe she grows up.....

Its kind of financial and mental planning issue

The playgroup teacher seems not really prof as there is no test for 2-year-old child.

BTW, my kid did not speak much at the age of 2 or even older.

我估小朋友會寧願有個弟弟／妹妹，多過讀國際學校。

有些資優兒會因在同齡的小朋友中找不到投契的朋友而感到寂寞，家人手足會是他最大的支持。

Teacher mentioned that she might be gifted that i need to pay more attention, and.she also mentioned that i can confirm by IQ test when 6 years old....

That teacher is a very experienced international.kindergarten teacher

我個大仔兩歲前智力發展已經好出眾，升K1個暑假做到升小一嘅暑期練習 (當然唔識寫字，但ABC嗰d OK)
我都曾經好緊張想知佢係咪資優，但最終等到小一先做評估，因為講到底佢係咪資優，我地都係咁教！由一開始已經無限提供各方面知識！
小一做評估，只係因為咁啱學校有得做，而且佢d脾氣越嚟越難頂！

而我地送咗份大禮俾佢：細佬一個！

我地從來無諗過讀國際學校，我相信中國人要學好中文，而我地嗰代嘅"資優"都係咁生存到，下一代一定有空間生存到！

樓主，培育資優，最重要嘅係學習興趣，keep住佢地團火就得架喇！俾心機呀！

同我囡都好多地方相似，不過我囡遲講野，歲半番健康院講野唔合格，但番完健康院第二日響屋企追隻貓忽然開口，仲要一講講句子，問「貓貓你去邊度？」之後開籠雀咁，原來之前已經學左收收埋埋唔講。未夠兩歲番完playgroup番到屋企自己扮老師，要婆婆做學生。
又係唔駛點訓覺，一歲就坐定定睇一個鐘頭書，性格固執，初頭都懷疑過自閉，兩歲番健康院姑娘轉左去見醫生，醫生同阿囡傾計問問題大半小時，排除左自閉，不過問我有無諗過佢係IQ比較高，醫生話佢test問佢d問題問到佢自己都唔想問落去，話問落去都無意思阿囡全部都答對，已經超哂班！
我地屋企全廣東話溝通無工人，兩歲一個月開始俾英文DVD佢睇，每日睇半粒鐘，之後見佢成日玩玩具時自言自語，發現佢同d玩具公仔玩role play講英文，而家兩歲四個月d公仔role play全英語完整句子自問自答，我真係O左咀。早兩個月買左幾本台灣兒歌書唱國語歌的，一本四十首，佢自己聽自己揭書，幾本書加埋百幾首歌，我都不知佢認字定認圖，早兩星期麻麻又買左本新的又有四十幾首，佢聽聽下走去搵番之前我買的其中一本揭兩揭就俾我睇話首歌一樣的，之後聽到另一首又去搵第二本揭俾我又一樣的，勁在係唔駛前前後後搵佢係快速就揭到要搵果首（我真唔夠佢玩，一本成四十頁紙），有時話要某首歌，我話好啦，等一等，媽咪要搵下書搵下第幾首，點知阿囡諗都唔駛諗話係第幾首，我真係點夠佢玩，而家成日咋咋帝帝問問題考番我轉頭，答錯左就咔咔咔咁笑！
反正而家無咩可以做，資唔資優最快都要等到6歲評估，我最擔心是她的情緒問題，今年九月讀N揀左間幼兒園係Project Approach和Montessori應該會比較適合佢，因為呢d教學法會比較無框框，可以俾佢多d發揮。

Thanks monlingling, 又真是好似wor，especially 佢地找番首歌对應的歌詞，我初時都以為她只是認咗歌词旁的圖，听了老師咁講，我才test 佢原本已懂認字（both 中文和英文)。
我囡都係勁同公仔玩role play, 又叫公仔排隊、企、睇書、彈琴……
我都有比dvd 佢看，半小時，只希望佢坐定吃飯……

係~ confirm gifted. score 仲高到嚇親我！(坦白講，對我有d壓力)
細佬係用嚟話佢知，呢個世界唔係佢一個話哂事，要同人合作，而佢嘅情緒問題，某程度係因為我地唔了解佢，但當confirm咗之後，我嘅態度變咗dd，咁大家都好過d

阿仔現時就讀一間辦資優教育有多年經驗嘅學校，唯一問題係好多support要P3先會有，其中包括了解自己嘅課程！
另外，佢入學後曾多次被班主任投訴佢畫枱，評估時，我地有同教育心理學家講，佢幫我地同老師溝通，之係再無投訴，老師仲俾d小任務佢做下
仲有，教育心理學家揾咗個P6好勁嘅師兄教佢捉棋！有次比賽見過嗰位師兄，真係難得人材！最欣賞佢嘅係：有興趣/想做嘅嘢，就鑽研，努力，都做得好！相信呢類堅持同恆心，响人生中好重要！希望阿仔學到少少啦！
