囡囡讀緊玫瑰崗 PN,之前報了—些有龍校的K1,但全部唔係 waiting 就 reject。昨日剛收到堅道真光電話有位，但信上寫入真小要報名及面試，咁即係冇優勢。咁點好呢？玫幼好似語言及校舍好ｄ，堅真就近屋企……好難選！

I attended the briefing at TL (caine road) regarding the arrangement for interview for P1 admission to Tai Hang TL Primary.
The principal claimed that there would not be any change regarding the chance of promotion to P1 at Tai Hang TL.  The admission was not 100% guarantee in the previous years anyway.

Parents have to submit P1 application form.  A special P1 interview session for kids from TL (Caine Road) kg will be held on the day (Friday) before the interview for K3 kids from other kindergartens (usually on Sat). The teacher will bring the kids to TL primary for interview and parents do not have to go.  It was agreed among TL (caine road) kg and TL primary that the kids would be given offer if they meet the normal standard of that age (no need to be the best).  For outsider, they will look for best candidates.  If the kids are found not OK in the interview, primary school teacher will seek comments from kindergarten and the principal said they would try their best to help if they think the kids is suitable to go to TL primary.  Surely, the final decision lies with TL primary instead of principal of TL (caine road) kg.

It appears to be that there is still priority.  TL (caine road) allows kids with offer to join central allocation... so some kids opted for the free subsidized school in central and western district eventually.

你可以下星期六帶埋小朋友去堅道真光開放日，睇吓小朋友鍾唔鍾意間學校，見到老師同校長可以問下問題，容易D下決定

always wonder why spanish? understand that spanish is useful in europe, but for a kid living in HK, (save for occasional holidays to europe) how much use spanish can serve? without a proper language environment for the kids to practise, how can the learning be sustainable? this has been a huge pulling factor that makes me hesitate for long ... just my personal view though ....

我推測是：
1）西班牙語是今全世界最多人用的語言之一，其影響力比好大，謹次於中文和英語。
2）玫瑰崗辦學團體是聖道明會，它的成立源自一班西班牙修士，學校教西班牙語都好正路。

如果學西班牙語不是為了考公開試，學校又不給予好大壓力，例如不合格不可以升班等，我覺得小朋友學多樣語言no harm, 加上幼兒對語言好敏感，可能有意外驚喜呢！

玫幼學術和語境好，但考小學係一埸硬仗，無足夠的幸運加缘份和背景是很難入心儀小學，學術方面讀边间都大部分出去上下英普堂加強下，所以好的小學backup更加重要，女仔入真幼保障大好多，德育品行又好！

據我所知，好似講過係唔使考試。但實際情況如何，因為仍是K3，解答唔到。中學遲早會變直資，而小學亦開始不斷改革(幼稚園和小學的校長已轉為同一人)，不過相信唔會咁快睇到成效。至於小朋友適合哪種小學和家長要求一間咩既學校便要樓主自己才知道。真光應該都會係傳統嚴厲的學校。玫瑰崗小學，跟據校長所說，佢希望小朋友能活潑好動，小息亦鼓勵學生多跑動(據校長理由是小朋友有很多精力，不讓他們小息發洩便會在其他時間做)，但我亦知道有些學校連小息都不讓學生跑(不是說真光是這樣，因我唔識小朋友係度到)，只可靜靜看書。這樣的話，要看看小朋友和家長是否接受。另外，玫小是要求學生盡量在校內做完功課(有功課時間)，所以回家便輕鬆啲。中文教學亦會以普通話為主。至於西班牙語，正如芝士BB說，因為創校人是西班牙神父，所以亦想推行西班牙語。
P.S.: 小女只是就讀玫幼K3，所以資料皆來自校方，意見是中立的。哪間學校較好真的是乎小朋友的喜好和家長的期望。
