They teach Dizigui, Zhonghua Zijing, flash card, etc.

i think comments on RM are pretty extreme, people are either never heard of it or will give very good comments about it.

my kid will only start from Sep, so i could only comment on what i have observed during orientation and from other current parents.

Pros:
- Mandarin and English Immersion program with authentic NET (no kidding, for some bilingual schools i've been to,  those "NET" have horrible HK accents)
- They provide a list of learning materials for the parents to buy (not cheap) and revise at home, which I personally think that reinforcement of what they have learnt at home is important.  I highly appreciate that I could know exactly what they are doing in school.
- Clean campus (they claimed to have air purifier which is the same quality as ICU rooms, I'd consider it to be a gimmick but that I do feel my kid will have less chance of getting sick) and organic food provided at campus(not 100% but still better than none, the principal claimed that 85% of the food are organic)
- Nice settling-in period arrangement for PN.   They arrange the PN class to start 2 weeks earlier than KG so that all the teachers in the school can go help out during that two weeks.  In addition, they separate the 1 class into two sub-group [1 hour each group]during the first two weeks, this is good that
  1. further increase the teachers-students ratio during the critical period
  2. for the first week when all the kids are accompanied with parents, the classroom wouldn't be overload.  i had experienced in playgroups that 50 people (25 kids + 25 parents) stuff into a normal classroom designed for 25 kids, you can totally imagine how hard it would be and how tiring for the parents who do not even have a place to stand.

Cons:
- remote location (unless you are living in southern district)
- relatively high school fees
- no offense, but the spoken English of the principal is really bad
- large class size (28 students with 2 NET and 1 local qualified teacher)

i think soniagina or other current parents maybe able to share more

Thanks for sharing. Did you realize their decor for the campus is odd? I mean too plain for kindy? Also, did u go to KinderU?

Yes agree that the reception area is too plain.  The classrooms are just standard kg classrooms.  I think except baby gym, most KG aren't that colour either, right?

Uhm..... I've only been to Vic and TT; both look very kindy to me, meaning lots of colors and art work on walls. I know RM's primary placement is good, but I'm most sure if its the right school for my girl. I agree with u that RM comments are very extreme that's why I want to find out more. I've been to their playgroup, KinderU, but stopped because the entire class practice was about flash cards. And the teachers qualities werent up to my expectation. That's why I worry that the teachers at RM will be the same too. (The turnover rate at KinderU is quite high.) on the other hand, I have to admit the founders from RM really do have hearts in education as Mr Ho and Mrs Ho always put time to answer parents questions. I hope u will like this school when ur kid starts this September and do let us know what u think afterward. Maybe u can clear some of my concerns.

we have tried out kinder U before we decided on RM.   I would say if the kid hadn't started talking, kinder U is not the ideal playgroup to attend.  When we were trying out, i found it quite nice as my kid would be able to imitate teacher's words, he was able to pick up a few new vocabularies in mandarin after the class.   Also i appreciated that they stressed on correcting kid's behavior/ manner (like giving out things with two hands or requesting them to ask things in a whole sentence in a polite way).
The use of flashcard is always a sensitive topic which i prefer not to discuss here (we can use PM if you are interested).  However, I would say if you have doubts on flashcards, Kinder U/ RM should be the last KG you should consider on your list.
As for the design of KG, personally i'd group them into three main styles
1. contemporary - very bright, clean and new, they don't stress on the use of colors, but the functional use of the campus.  which i think ITT, PODS and RM fall into this type
2. traditional -
traditional classrooms with wooden tables and large black / white board and lots of notice boards with art works by students.  KCS, RHS and other traditional KG

3. hybrid of 1 and 2 - maintaining a new campus with more 'school' elements. Victoria (HH) and TT (caine road)

Hi Qso,

Reading from you past posts, knowing that you are also attending playgroup in victoria, May I know why you prefer RM over Victoria?  Thanks!

Dear Parents,

I second Qso's opinions! Rightmind is a great and promising school. Their primary school placements, in particular for ISF, are very impressive! Even the air quality is better because they use the IQ Air filter (I saw it).

Unfortunately, we bought all the uniforms (boys, size 2) and their school bag only to find out our son won't be able to attend...

If any of you are interested in buying BRAND NEW boy uniforms (size 2) and BRAND NEW school bag at 40% off, please PM me!
