I'm considering to send my boy to their playgroup as I also want him to continue his kindergarten there, but I have some questions on the different programs they offer for kids from 2yrs 3m until they can enroll to K1. Hope mammies from this school would be able to advise.
1) On weekdays 2-4pm, the Playgroup (1yr 6m - 2yrs 3m) and Pre-program (2yrs 6m - 3yrs) are joint, so there will be a large age spread among the kids. Would the teaching be appropriate to all kids?
2) First Step & Pre-K: What are the differences between the 2?
3) Are Pre-program, First Step & Pre-K targeted to the same age group?
4) Do they have AM classes for First Step or Pre-K?

I can only answer the last 3 questions

2. First step only need to attend 1.5-2 hrs / pre-k need to attend 3 hrs. Both from Monday to Friday. Please confirm with the school for the exact time

3. First step is for kids who was borned from jan-may / pre-k is for kids who was borned from jan - April

4. Nope they only offer for PM class

I had applied their pre-k for my daughter. Hope will hear their good news soon

Thanks for your reply. I'm also considering to apply for their pre-k program, but still a bit struggling as they only have PM class. When did you send your application form? Are you attending their playgroup now?

I am not attending their Playgroup.

I sent the application around 6 mths ago (when my daughter was 1 year old)

I am not worry about the pm schedule coz I am more consider the school philosophy and their reputation.

我都好想知道佢地收生的準則，我住屋村，唔太識英文，完全唔識普通話，我亦有跟學校傾過佢哋話無問題，因為小朋友適應力好強，好容易跟上，不用擔心，我希望囡囡可以打好基礎，而且我又參觀過佢哋開放日，印象幾好，所以選擇這間學校。不過佢地經常講first come first serve，即係點呀?我有無機會呢?學校方面就叫我等消息，大約出年1月先知，所有決定代校長審批，所以有唔係好理解first come first serve的意思?

Fist come first serve 是以申請先後來排位!所以越早申請, 機會入讀此校越大!
小朋友真有很大的適應能力，不用擔心!

My boy will join their playgroup for this coming Autumn term. They said students from the playgroup would be placed with a priority to enroll to their Pre-K program. I haven't sent my application form yet though (will do so soon). They told me they would annouce the Pre-K acceptance in late Dec or early Jan.

quiztee: I read from your other threads that your gril graduated from Anfield. May I know how the level of Chinese is when kids complete K2? Did your girl attend Chinese tutorial lessons outside school? I don't expect them to be as proficient in Chinese as those from local schools. What I'm more concerned with is their interests towards Chinese that they could gain from school. International stream is my preferred choice, but I still want my boy to keep up with his Chinese level to some extent. Thx!

佢地唔理學生家境的, 放心. 但次次都系先到先得. 所以你一遲左報名, 有錢讀都唔會有位比你, 因為佢地唔會明明已收滿都為左收多個學費而收多個學生. 所以我個囡同個囡由1歲開始已經系佢地度讀, 個大囡仲讀埋佢地既小一. 如你有特別問題, 其實可以直接寫電郵比校長架, 佢地會好快就覆你. 佢地系一間好的英國式學校.

其實我覺得佢地不是學術性很高的學校，小朋友係learn through playing, 很喜歡他們注重培養小朋友閱讀及演說能力（show and tell)
至於中文, 學校每天有30分鐘普通話時間. 他們有練習寫字，但我相信情度一定不會太高。如你要求小朋友有更好的情度，我想你要自己多點培養😊😊
我沒有在外邊參加中文課程，不過我將會考慮報讀了! 因國際學校的中文都是比較淺一點😃

I totally agree with "learn through playing" and this should be why we all want to send our kids to int'l schools. I'm not expecting him to be able to do maths and write Chinese at the same level as kids from local school. I'm more concerned with their creativity, interests in learning and being proactive, and like what you said I also want my boy to love reading and be outspoken.
By the way, do kids only start learning to write in K2 (that's what I read from another thread), and is it for both English and Chinese?

Hi there! My girl is now 14 months old, Im planning to enroll to the playgroup class of Anfield. However, I read online that they only have playgroup class for bb who were born in the beginning of Year 2011. Im just wondering if it's ok to submit the application form now in an attempt to "save" a place for my girl in coming year? One more question, are they gonna have another playgroup class in summer term for babies who were born in mid Year 2011?

Playgroups are for kids from 1yr 6m to 3 yr old. If you wan to enrol your girl to playgroup, you can apply for the term staring from early Apr. you cannot apply in advance and reserve a space now. Just keep an eye on their website for the application form that they normally publish 2 months before the term starts.

For Pre-K class, it's only eligible for babies born in the months of Jan to Apr. in you case, you can only apply to 2014/15 K1 class. You can submit application to K1 any time.

For playgroup for 1yr 6 mths & 2yrs 3mths, they are separated into 2 classes with different classroom and different teacher. When you enrol, they will group your kids to the class according to their ages, so all the kids are with similar age in the class.

I also visited this school on the open day. The classroom is nice and the teaching materials are funny. May I know from any parents who have their kids currently studying in this kindergarten? Are you all planning to go to anfield primary or other IS? Will any of you go to local primary? Is it a suitable path for kids to go to local primary?

I would also like to know whether it is a good choice to choose Anfield if I would like my child to go to local primary school? If not, any good playgroup choices?

By the way, do you know when is the next open day so that I can visit the school and take a look? Thanks!

我打過去問有關toddlerobics同playgroup/prep-program係可以一齊喺bb夠歲數時前一個term報(whampoa campus)..我想問係咪前一晚就要排隊交表嗰種架? 同埋讀左佢地幼稚園係咪預左一定走返國際小學?

佢哋報名暫時都係先到先得（又未到於要前一晚排隊）不過就越來越多人報
大部分小朋友讀都會選國際小學升學，因敎中文太淺冇乜寫字可以話冇，如升Ls就追唔上，再加上課程同Ls好唔同，小朋友會好唔習慣
