今年阿女讀小一，佢返學返得好開心。問佢開心指數有幾高，一分 = 最小開心、五分 = 最開心，佢立即話五分。之後再問佢以前讀個間幼稚園有幾分, 佢話四分。

My daughter just join Gigamind this September as P.2 pupil.  She is really enjoy to attend the school everyday.  She has only 16-17 classmates, but they will be separated to two small groups (based on their abilities) to attend the language lessons, i.e. English and Chinese. I am satisify with this arrangement.

would you mind to tell me about the syllabus of the school. For example, what the students will be learnt for the class. how about the homework assignment, any project they need to do so

My kid joined Gigamind this March and I have noticed that he enjoys studying in this school.  The Principal is excellent and I would say that he is a devoted educator.  If I know that there is such a school earlier, I would not hesitate to send my child here since P.1.  In the previous years my kid studied in a conventional school and it just did not suit him because he is the active type and therefore was always punished by the teachers.  There are not many rules in Gigamind but the children know how to behave themselves.  The school philosophy focuses on motivating the students to realise their potential.  I think it is a good school.

I do agree with lawyke's comment to Gigamind.  My girl  studied in a famous traditional school a year ago.  She was also not adaptable to this kind of school style although she has enjoyed to play with her classmates and has already built a close relations with them.  Gigamind uses local syllabus, the graduates could join either local schools for further education (secondary level) or change to international stream schools (i.e.Yew Chung or other IS).  My daughter has two to four homework assignments for each day.  She usually takes about one hour to finish them.  English is the main medium of learning in this school. All subjects except Chinese Language are using English as the language media.  They use Pontunghua for Chinese teaching.  At the school, all teachers are required to use English or Pontunghua to communicate with the pupils.  As the principal said, they will not prohibit pupils to use Cantonese to talk with each other during recess or lunch time, but the school will encourage them to use English or Pontunghua as a communication tools.

I like this school because she is a small Christian school in which a caring environment catered for individual needs.  In addition, I am happy the school can provide rich English and Chinese learning environments for our children.   But I think there is a main point that affects the school not so attractive to some parents, that is the location - Tinshuiwai.  It's really so far and so strange for many people in Hong Kong I think.

I went to their open day two years ago, I dont' quite remember what time of the year it was.  You may check their website and give them a call.

2. 學校本身是否由耀中舉辨 -- 學校和耀中語藝教育中心有聯繫 , 而耀中語藝教育中心是耀中教育機構的其中一個附屬機構

3. 現時課程是否行 IB -- 不是 , 可參考 :

4. 畢業後可否直接升讀耀中國際中學或其它國際中學 -- 不可以直接升讀耀中國際中學 , 沒有任何關係 . 不過 , 因為激活的課程設計是介乎本地學校課程和國際學校課程之間, 所以畢業生亦可升讀一些國際中學 .

其實 , 我聽到好多有關激活嘅positive comments , 但又解決唔到中學嘅問題 , 所以個心15/16 . 激活同YC嘅所謂聯繫有幾大呢 ? 因為始終YC primary好多都會直升上中學 , 咁學位方面又點呢 ?

另外 , 以我所知 , 啲老師除英語老師外 , 其餘嘅大多係non-English native speakers , 你對佢哋嘅language standard 有乜評價 ?

作為媽咪 , 對於囝囝嘅教育真係諗到好頭痛 , 真係多謝你可以提供到啲咁有用嘅資料 , thanks !

對不起問了一大堆問題，因我想女兒將來讀英中，打好英語基礎，但又怕一開始用全英語的環境，會嚇怕了她……..
