No doubt Logos has done a good job on IB, but based on what it discloses about the DSE results I cannot have a clear picture yet.

The theme of the discussion is to compare between Logos and GT(not limited to DSE), and not Logos with other schools.

I am only referring to these 2 schools.  These two schools disclosed their 2015 DSE results in different ways, and that's why it is hard to compare.  Also, I do not know how to compare IB and DSE results.  Perhaps you can share some ideas.

I would rather look at the "end products" : which programmes of which universities did their students enter (for all their students, IB and DSE) in these years. Obviously, Logos stands out.

她們是否考ib 入大學？

對，如版友所言，可否具體講一下如何stand out?

因為除第一年dse 是公佈5級或以上百份比，近年都只是公佈合格或以上百份比…

相信很家長都很關注學校的昇學率和公開試成績作參考…

大女兒在真道考會考，EAS尖子入科大Global Business.
小女兒在真道讀小一至中四，後來轉到李寶椿，考IB，攞scholarship 入中大LLB. （在真道多年的基礎功不可沒）

歷年來，真道的畢業生和舊生有入讀：
HKUST : Global Business, BBA
HKU     : Medicine, Dentistry, Law, BBA
CUHK   : Global Medicine, Medicine, Law, BBA

英國 ：Cambridge, LSE, KCL, IC, Warwick
美國  ：Ivy League schools

（未能盡録）

註："stand out" 是指僅與 GT 比較

真道DSE成績得唔得? 個人認為, 目前仲係非常唔穩定, 絶對唔可以話佢達一線水平 (所謂B1中學)

參考吓佢呢兩年既校務報告:

*** 以2012-2013年度校務報告資料嚟睇:

在 101 位畢業生中有 50 位(49.5%) 獲接納修讀本地學士位課程； 21 位(20 .8%) 同學獲接納修讀外國大學士位課程，較去年為多。總計的百分比達 70.3% 。另有 18 位(17.8%) 畢業生獲接納修讀本地副學士位課程/高級文憑課程/大學基礎課程；8位 (7.9%) 同學獲接納修讀外國大副士位課程/高級文憑課程/大學基礎課程。總計修讀副學士位課程/高級文憑課程/大學基礎課程的百分比達 25.7% 。

85人修讀DSE, 16人修讀IBDP

考慮以下情況:
a. 如所有IBDP考生都升讀本地學士位課程, DSE考生入local degree百份比: (50-16)/85=40.00%
b. 如所有升讀本地學士位課程為DSE考生, DSE考生入local degree百份比: 50/85=58.82%

DSE考生入local degree百份比: 40% - 58.82%, 呢屆成績係唔錯!

*** 以2013-2014年度校務報告資料嚟睇:

43 (33.3%) out of 129 graduates were accepted by local Bachelor degree programmes. More than last year, 24 (18.6%) students had offer from overseas Bachelor degree programmes. The total percentage of studying Bachelor degree programmes was 51.9%. Another 42 graduates (32.6%) were admitted to local Associate degree / high diploma / foundation programmes. 9 students (7%) had offer from overseas Associate degree / high diploma / foundation programmes. The total percentage of studying Associate degree / high diploma / foundation programmes was 39.6%.

103人修讀DSE, 26人修讀IBDP

考慮以下情況:
a. 如所有IBDP考生都升讀本地學士位課程, DSE考生入local degree百份比: (43-26)/103=16.5%
b. 如所有升讀本地學士位課程為DSE考生, DSE考生入local degree百份比: 43/103=41.75%

DSE考生入local degree百份比: 16.5% - 41.75%, 呢屆成績差咗好多喎!

不愧為數據佬...

除了第一屈DSE 成績統計公布用5級或以上, 後來既年份都用PASS GRADE 去統計. 所以有版友唔容易睇明白...

若是從 CKY, GT 和 Logos 這些學校來取捨入讀小一的話，我覺得還是 Logos 佔優：

1.  Logos 行 IB approach, 對學生個人發展和學習，較 DSE 優勝。

2.  Logos 在升讀中五時，學生才需要選擇考 IB 或 DSE，到時，他／她們對於哪個考試更適合他們會更易掌握。不同CKY和GT，一入小一，便無得轉。

3.  不能衹拿 Logos現在的DSE考生入讀本地大學率和 GT 比較，而不考慮 Logos 的 IB考生。事實是，Logos 的 IB 考生入讀本地大學比出國更多，而且，不少是入讀本地神科。

4.  用 IB 成績循 Non-jupas 報讀本地大學一般學位，如 BBA, Science, Arts, Engineering, Social Science, 是絕對不難的。

5.  由於學生人數較多，Logos 可運用的資源較豐富。

6.  Logos 的網絡不錯。

7.  我印象的 Logos 家長整體支援很強。


現在入讀小一，還有十一、二年才考大學，到時 IB 和 DSE 的制度都會有變(尤其是本地制度), 選小學，還是看學校理念和發展、資源、校風、師生網絡，較單看成績合理。

如果以"整體學生"升讀local degree比例去計, Logos亦唔算理想:

2013年:
50/(85+16)=49.5%

2014年:
43/(103+26)=33.33%

而且Logos係揀人讀IBDP, 根本不能同CKY全民都要考IBDP去比.

加上Logos之前既IBDP選科方式(English A/B既問題), 亦係令人擔憂既問題.

雖然依家有得揀, 但有重有幾多人用舊方式選科呢?

如IB生入本地大學比出國多, 咁由DSE入本地大學又少咗D, 暫時看來IB approach 或 IB PYP and MYP (如啟思) 連接上DSE教法等 是否要調整, 真道和啟思也是IB成績好D, 至於話去到高中才選定IB 或DSE, 其實要留意埋學校提供什麼科目给IB生選, 如真道language A 中英只有SL, 科學 subject group 只有phy, chem, bio (一般全考IB学校会有design), 數學無提供math studies, 对於文科生數理也不強未必合適。
