入 PCL 主要睇 GPA ... GPA 唔高係無得讀。
如果本地大行.big five, magic circle..我係話 solicitor firm ...D 家 (唔方便開全名, local 大 firm) ...喜歡請 HKU...
ifirm ...喜歡外國回來的 + HKU ....

通常 Year 3時，學生 ...term break, 暑假都會去d 大 firm 做 mini pupil ...Y4開學時，大 firm 會出 offer 給學生，等佢地讀完PCL 之後開工。

如果完全無firm 請做 mini pupil ..或做完 mini pupil 無 offer..到畢業之後先搵工，入大 firm 的機會好渺茫。

英文同普通話...流利程度亦係大 firm 考慮的因素，英文發音好同流利就一定機會高d ...如果間 firm有做大陸客，普通話同中文程度亦會考慮。

我女jupas 選 LAW 時，全家都懵誠誠，以為讀完5年就算 ...讀落去先知有咁多野要考慮

呢個可能我資料錯，因為我女讀 LLB

如果想做 barrister ...都係 Y3 apply chambers....香港兩大 chambers (D 家同 T 家), 都係呢個時間揀 mini pupil....如果被選上，Y3暑假會去跟未來師傅做野，師傅滿意會給 offer ...等3年後開工 (Y4 + PCL + oxbridge master 1年).
至於其他solicitor firm 同 chambers 要求同流程，我就唔清楚。

好多成績達到一定程度的同學，都會 Y3 或 Y4 去外國做 visiting students ... 大部份大學都唔駛額外交學費。不過，oxbridge 係要交全費。 有機會去 oxbridge 做 visiting student的話，就唔好慳呢d錢。

所以 Year 2 學期尾出的 cumulative GPA ...對將來影響好大。

我只係就 HKU LLB 課程來講，其他院校的 Law 課程，我真係唔清楚。

所以我話 HKU 讀 LLB係好辛苦同壓力大。不過，讀得好，就相對回報大。

我知ge 都係咁上下，我女入左大學之後，我都無點理佢，所有野我都係食晚飯時聽佢講。如有錯漏，請見諒。

最後一句....真係要好喜歡Law，AQ 高，先好報讀。
早排新聞咪有個HKU PCL同學，有幻聽，跳橋。可知壓力非一般，讀Law唔會比醫科、牙醫、其他神科少壓力。

讀Law係好難轉系。大學係唔會踢人走 (因為去到 PCL時，已經會自動淘汰)，反而係有d同學因各種原因自己退學，唔再讀書。

想起來都有些傷感，以入Law的成績，入大學邊一系都無難度，最後攪到連大學學位都無，係同學同家長都預想唔到。

It is easy to find out the answer as to the odds of entering into PCLL. Several years ago, I had done some researches. Basicallly, each year the commission on legal education would submit an annual report to the Government which is a public document. The report has summary on the number of PCLL spaces of the three PCLL providers and the number of applicants to each school. It seems HKU offers about 80 spaces tovgraduates from overseas law colleges. CU offers about 75 % of its graduates spaces of PCLL. It may change now. Just check the updated reports.

There is a SIGNIFICANT difference between Kong U law and CU law.

In terms of ranking and prestige of law schools in both Hong Kong and the UK, this is always how it goes regardless of what league tables say.

I had done the same as yours when my son applied for PCLL in 2011. He completed his PCLL in 2012. As parents, we can increase the children's odd in admission to PCLL if we do some researches for them.
My son told my that if your LLB is from UK, you will have greater chance if you apply to HKU with an average mark
K of 56 in the core subjects and average mark of 62 to 63 in the law subjects taken in the 2nd and 3rd year.

轉系首要條件係要GPA 高，我唔記得要幾高。所以成績唔好，一定無得轉。達到個成績，又要再睇心儀個系的要求。總括來講就係難。
我女有個唔熟的同學，讀完 Y1 quit 左，去左做售貨員，今年又返左 HKU 讀 Y1 Arts ...不過，就唔清楚佢係重考 DSE 定係用番兩年前入 LLB 的 DSE 成績報 or 係 take 左 Y2做 gap year。

我本來以為LLB requirement高好多所以轉番出去的話會容易，因為我諗緊如果我真係入到LLB但段尾發現自己唔這適合，會唔會有另一條路行，想了解多D. Anyway唔該你

HKU's Faculty of Law is ranked no.1 in Asia  and Top Fifty all around the world !

Both that of CU and City Polytechnic are out of World Fifty .

Hence the main concern is whether having sufficient qualification to be selected or not !

English is the main subject and History would be a great enhancement !
