If you want to have a good interview, you should buy some books on how to ace a medical interview and read it. Those books usually list out more than 100 questions/ scenarios which may be asked by and quote examples on how to tackle the same.
For example, the question commonly asked in an interview is "why do you want to be a doctor". If your answer is "I want to serve people in a medical field", the following up question will be "radiographer, physiotherapy and nurses also work on the medical field, why you choose to study medicine".
If you want to ace an interview, you should prepare for the interview. Those books should help you understand more about questions which may not come to your mind before and would make you embarrassed.
A course in St. John Ambulance, for example, may help, I think it is not sufficient. If you want to ace an application, you should know the attributes of a medical doctor - leadership skill, communication skill, team-work, good E.Q., willingness to share and serve.
Your activities taken in your secondary school [from F.4 to F.6} are very important. If your activities could support that you have the attributes of a medical doctor, it is easier to distinguish yourself from the other applicants. |
