i) direct-offer

即係話除非你唔交學費, 校方一定會收你.



ii) conditional offer

即係話你要達到校方既要求先會收你.

例如: 完成課程, 某個GPA分數以上等.

申請程序:

現在應該做甚麼?
9-10 月, 應該去各大學 open day 問 non-jupas 問題, 收生資料, 上網睇 programme 資料, 簡定想報既 programme
10月前, 準備所需文件(會考/al 證書,推薦信...etc), 影印
12-2月, 報名, 交報名費, 寄文件...etc
3-5 月, interview , 等 offer
6月-8月, 寄 sem 2成績上去, 又係等 offer
留意  有冇講座, 搵大學生 sell 佢地既 degree, 最好去聽下
下年8月中都收唔到任何 offer , 請開始搵後路, 如北上/台灣
到了9月都冇 offer 既話, 代表申請不成功

報名時要注意甚麼?
睇清楚 deadline 時間, 睇清楚報名須知
報完名之後要幾多日內寄文件,寄去邊度, 所有 copy 上面 要寫的字都要留意
唔好填錯野(不要用錯顏色筆)....黑色??(見填居屋要黑色筆)
所有成績單, 證書等全部寄哂上去先!!

Regarding the recommendation letter, I think the teacher or department head should show, not to tell, how good the student is. It is not enough that his result is very and he is very polite and has good behavior. The admission tutor could find the information from his transcript.

For example, if the student is willing to share with other students and takes a leading role in service, the teacher can write something to show he has such quality:

"i am his biology teacher and has taught him since F. 4 to F.6. One of my favorite recollections of John was when he was my student in my class during his F.4. Inevitably I would come into class after his maths class. On many occasions, John and his fellow classmates, who had just been released from maths class, would be at the white board working on the mathematical equations. John was a natural leader in these spontaneous math sessions, He would assume the role of teacher and help his peers with the difficult part of the equations. Every students gravitated to John's agile mind and easy communication style. He was able to see the subtleties of maths and in particular he has a unique ability for asking the "next step". The next step or question extended his learning and those around him and lay the foundation for a brilliant scientific career. Certainly it is due to his innate desire to inquire. John is also a student who seeks evidence and uses the evidence to support his findings and as the basis of his next round of intellectual exploration."

請問 local student和 International student報上大學分別??

Local students can be either Jupus Local (taking DSE) and Non-Jupus Local. The main difference between Non-Jupus Local and International (non-jupus) students is they pay different school fee. Since they are all under non-jupus admission scheme, that means they are competing the same quota of admission.

The fee payable to the University does not depend on whether you are a JUPAS student or non-JUPAS student. It depends on whether you are a Hong Kong Permanent Resident. If you are a HKPR, the fee payable is still HK$42,100 even though you are a NJ applicant admitted.

The Government only requires the universities to admit no more than 20% NJ students, leaving 80% of the quota to JUPAS applicants.

NJ local student and NJ International student pay the SAME fee if they are Hong Kong permanent residents.

If a non permanent resident who applies on the strength of NJ qualification (studied in Hong Kong), he is required to pay the foreign student fee.

No, local non-JUPAS and international non-JUPAS don't share the same quota.  All local students (JUPAS and non-JUPAS) share the same subsidised quota instead.  Only HKU medic now set a quota for non-JUPAS applicants.

The government imposes the condition that the maximum of NJ student admitted by any local university is not more than 20% of the overall available. However not all faculties admit 20%. Some faculty may admit more than 20 percent and some may admit less than 20 percent. The condition imposed is on the university as a whole, not on the faculties. The result is that some faculties may admit more than 20% and some may admit less than 20%.
That is why HKU medicine may admit not more than 25% NJ applicants and CU medicine may admit 40% NJ applicants into their medicine class. This is simply the utilisation of the used quota by the other faculties.

教資會資助院校副學位、學士學位和研究院修課課程可招收的非本地學生人數上限為這些課程的核准學額指標的20%。教資會資助院校並沒有就經聯招及非聯招途徑入讀的學生訂定比例。

咁,佢都無話本地與非本地。反正,佢有權按佢的原則,"擇優而錄"

如果話,家長"誤會"了港府所訂的收生限制,咁,係喺呀Dean都有份呢?

入讀醫科是不少尖子首選，香港大學（HKU）今年預計透過聯招（JUPAS）取錄約160人，港大醫學院院長梁卓偉透露收生分數趨升，又提醒學生不要因為成績好便讀醫，應了解自己興趣及目標是否適合當醫生，才不致枉花六年光陰。

今年有66,613名學校考生及13,002名自修生參加中學文憑試，全港約1.5萬人可升讀八所資助大學的課程，其中深受尖子歡迎的港大及中大醫科，今年各有210個學額。港大在2012及2013年每年取錄150人，而中大在2012及2013年分別取錄139人及116人。
港大醫學院院長梁卓偉表示，今年預計最多取錄75%經聯招申請入讀醫學院的學生，另外25%學生（約53人）經非聯招入學。本星期初IB（國際文憑）放榜，不少IB尖子透過非聯招方式申請港大醫學院，梁卓偉已接見兩批IB申請人，當中不乏本港醫生的子女，梁卓偉在會面中問及申請人期望17至23歲過怎樣的人生、是否必選港大醫學院，又指文憑試成績優異不等於適合讀醫
核心提示：港大醫學院今年通過「大學聯合招生辦法」（JUPAS）取錄157名文憑試學生，佔醫科學額的75%，港大醫學院院長梁卓偉表示，今年收生成績較以往好，提高聯招收生的比例，是為了令更多本地學生有機會升讀，未來亦會研究是否需要調整比例。其中香港大學醫學院更成為取錄尖子的「大贏家」，包攬了5名應屆「狀元」，包括協恩書院陳詠妍、九龍華仁書院姚本杰、嘉諾撒聖瑪利書院黃靖桐、皇仁書院馬國鳴以及英皇書院麥志鏘。然而， 150多名被港大醫學院取錄的聯招生，佔醫科學額的75%，較去年提高5個百分點，梁卓偉表示，提高聯招收生比例，是為了令更多本地學生有機會升讀，「大學教育是最好的社會流動階梯，眼見貧富懸殊問題日益嚴重，希望藉瞂提高（聯招收生）比例。

Thanks for your sharing.
It appears that my understanding is incorrect because I assume that all overseas students are of NJ qualifications and mix them with the local NJ applicant.

成功優先取錄例子:已故「電器大王」蒙民偉么女蒙珮兒，兩年前在英國會考（GCSE）成為13A*狀元，在去年英國普通教育文憑高級程度考試（GCE A-level）再下一城，考獲3A*及1A的優異成績；她獲五所當地名牌大學及兩所本地大學取錄，最終選擇入讀劍橋大學經濟系，希望將來循經濟方向改變社會。

　　現時就讀劍橋大學經濟系一年級的蒙珮兒，接受本報專訪時稱，四年前赴英升學，完成GCSE課程後，轉校至英國傳統名校Magdalen College School升讀中六，該校逾三成畢業生考入牛津、劍橋，珮兒亦是其中之一。她於高考選修GCE A-level的數學、進階數學、經濟、宗教研究，終不負爸爸所望，奪得3A*，宗研則以三分之差考獲A。

　　備戰考試期間，珮兒坦言亦承受不少壓力，「主要來自涉及家庭官司的壓力，擔心媽媽要在港獨自處理。」成績一直名列前茅的珮兒表示，讀書方面反而以平常心面對，「都知道考試的竅門」。

　　高考放榜前，當時心儀經濟學系的珮兒已獲五所世界知名學府包括牛津大學、劍橋大學、華威大學（The University of Warwick）等，以及香港大學、中文大學優先取錄。珮兒表示，曾考慮回港升學，不過當時老師鼓勵她以更好的大學為目標，「本身我亦很想入讀倫敦政治經濟學院（LSE），因該校經濟學系於行內認受性很高。」不過，珮兒最終選讀劍橋大學，完成爸爸的遺願。
