A lot of parents just want to see what they believe, then to consolidate the old mind-set.  They won't  take time to listen, read, study, think, and compare the pro and con.  Finally old habits die hard, human loves rumors and gossip as usual.

Overall, Anchan is a good teacher . 可惜识货的人还是太少!

You should read up on what IB is first.  Go to their website and try to understand their approach first.  You are not even at the starting line of comparing IB vs DSE since your don't even understand the basic premises of each system.

I think he/she would like to have a model answer for this question, without any research work and analysis.  This is the typical mindset of most HK students.

The number of students take IB examination each year (summer) is more or less same as the number of students who take the DSE examination.

我估計其中一個原因是好多家長怕左dse 科中文, IB 話難但肯努力一定有成果, 但DSE 中文幾努力都有可能得個2/1/U

I am not an IB expert. But here are some answers to your questions of why more schools offer IB:
IB approach helps students to transit more smoothly to university education. In the universities, students are often asked to submit essays and homework which require them to do research on the topic, write something to communicate to the readers and add their own opinion in the essays.  There is never any model answer.

The traditional education system is knowledge-based.  Examinations test how much the students know.  IB emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, the process of learning (so that students can apply similar approach throughout their lives in new topics and concepts).  In my opinion this approach is more suitable for the modern world. Knowledge (or facts) can easily be retrieved from internet.  The process of getting what you need, and screen out the useful stuff, critically analyse those materials presented by different people, is more important.

marking scheme很簡略,要看過得分實例才能說難易

how did you draw the conclusion that a curriculum is popular because it is easier?

as other parents here said, you are.not even scratching the surface of what is to know about IB.  making sweeping statements like IB is easier is just absurd.
