請問我小朋友是07BB，想入esf grade 1，是否已可以try to apply?

另請問是apply esf的小學還是另外兩間私立學校？有什麼分別？

請問現時esf的中、小學收費多少？

2007 children should apply in September.  It should be noted that the primary schools would be very oversubscribed.

PIS schools have to admit at least 50% children of local HK residents, you may have a better chance with PIS schools.

All fees are listed on their website.  As a matter of fact, all international schools list their tuition fees and debentures on their website.  You can check there.  For ESF: www.esf.edu.hk

謝謝兩位回覆。
因我們住九龍區，ESF兩間PIS對相變得偏遠，其實都聽聞這機構的IS非常多申請，但都希望一試。
再請問，讀IB將來如果留港升大學的情況如何？定或只有出外留學一條路？

Please find the link below. IB DP students can get into local universities via the Non-Jupas path. In fact, more than 40% of RC (one of the PIS) DP graduates last year   entered into  local U .

However, please be reminded that IB  MYP woud take U to nowhere , it is not even considered as completion of secondary.

If you are in Cat 2 and your child is not in one of the ESF kindergarten, your chances of getting into BHS and KJS is near 0.  You really would have a better chance in getting into Renaissance.  There are schoolbuses running all over Kowloon to Renaissance.

this year RC got over 600 applicants compete for 150 seats!
what do u think?
RC not going after Category system. they give the priority to ESF kinder. However, even my kid is in ESF kinder, I don't have an offer this year.

Cat 2 of course. If I were cat 1, there's no reason to worry about

that is why, by the time that u r sending ur kid into esf kinder and decide to try esf primary, pls make sure that ur kid is or will be a Cat 1 before he/she get an offer. that is what my daughter's school advice us. btw, my daughter is a K2 in ESF hillside.

honestly, except you are in Cat 1.  Otherwise, ESF Kinder students are not gaurantee to ESF Primary

That's not true!  This year BHS and KJS took alot of kids from outside ESF kinders, even those kids are in Cat 2, yes, their parents were HK Chinese!
They been offer the seats before the kids who studying in ESF Kinder (of couse i'm talking about both are on Cat. 2).
For RC this year, a lot of kids in ESF kinders has been rejected offer a seat for them, even not on waiting list.
Some of the ESF kinder kids, only have a waiting list at SJS/BHS/KJS, but rejected by RC.

totally agreed with you!  so i don't see any advance be a ESF kinder students if you are in Cat. 2.

請問是否apply了都未必有interview的機會？怎樣prepare小朋友去interview？需要interview家長嗎？

yes, if ur kid is not a Cat 1 and is not in ESF kindergartens, u might not have any chance to have an interview.

Being in an ESF kindy only gives priority with interview, but not guarantee a place.

konimama, I wouldn't worry too much about not getting a seat in the ESF system.  You will probably get one in the 3rd or 4th round.  Frances is usually pretty good at helping families out.  However, it may not be SJS.

Thanks lottieclee,
Frances is on leave, she won't be back after July.
I don't mind if they can offer any place in any ESF school.
However, learnt from a parent, her son had no offer last year. Finally gotta repeat K2.......
Worry worry
