好頭痕，出年移民英國，而家幫緊啲仔女睇學校。大女升year 7, 細仔升 year 5， 而家讀緊一間唔錯嘅國際學校。
問題唻喇
（1）因為要就老公返工，所以揾嘅學校不能離倫敦區太遠，最多1.5小時嘅距離。
（2）想揾間有小學直升中學嘅, 但好多大家提及嘅學校都由year 9 開始，真係唔想過去兩年又要考過....
（3）最理想係 co edu, 唔駛分兩間
集合以上條件嘅，我只係揾到 Caterham School, 請問仲有冇多啲提議？我真係揾到頭都大，謝謝各位!

City of London freemen’s School or Abingdon school
英國附近不太多一條龍 co-edu 學校，單性別的一條龍學校會多d。
不過到最後是否 guarantee 直上呢，都是看成績了。

你有所不知喇，我呢幾個星期大大話話同五六個agent 傾過，有啲就話唔做day student application, 只做boarding students。
有個會做day student 嘅，感覺都熟悉英國學校，話收我HKD30,000 /kid, 介紹三間學校俾我，但只係介紹個校名，其餘申請同安排面試自己搞掂。
又有一個，話收我HKD6000，提供下啲校名俾你，其他嘢都係自己搞掂。但感覺好吹水，都唔知係唔係咁。
移民agent 又講唔到學校嘅嘢，學校agent 又未必知個town 岩唔岩一家人生活。與其只信agent, 我自己都要走多幾步四圍揾資料，起碼agent 講咩我都識啲，唔會俾人亂點嘛。

男女校，唔保證一條龍，但成績唔差係無問題上到 Senior School

Canterbury 的確是值得考慮的，一個鐘的火車就到倫敦 St Pancreas。除了 King’s School，還有 Kent College 可以考慮。

如果覺得 Canterbury OK，除了 King's School 和 Kent College 外，還可以考慮 St Edmund's School。

另外如果想住倫敦市內，可以考慮 Dulwich 區，仔可以讀 Dulwich College，而女可以讀 James Allen's Girl School，兩間都是非常好的學校。

我睇過Junior King 不是直升上senior school, 還要考entrance exam， 呢樣有啲猶豫。大女因為申請year 7, 如成功就應該可以括免唔駛考。但細仔申請year 5 ，過兩年就要考多次。如果資料有錯請指正。
不過話雖如此，都會考慮呢間。

Whitgift School in South Croydon. South Croydon is around 40 mins by train to Canary Wharf. Not sure about girl's school.
Lancing College is good but too far from C. Wharf. For me, King's Canterbury is quite far from C.Wharf. If go by train, almost 2 hrs?

Whitgift is a boy school and aged from 10 to 18. My son is too young for this.
Yes I know Lancing and Kings are quite far from Central London but we dun have mant choices and so Daddy is ok to sacrifice a bit to be a commuter.

其實 Dulwich College 應該不算太 selective，反而 James Allen’s Girl School 可能更 selective！Lancing 也是一間非常好的學校，pastoral care 應該不錯。
Eastbourne 我就不清楚了。

其實要入那一間 senior school 都一定要考 common entrance (無論是11+入 Year 7 或是 13+入 Year 9)，即使是自己屬下 junior school 的學生也不例外。不過只要成績及操行沒什麼大問題，八九成 Junior King’s 的學生也可以升上 King’s，所以不用太擔心。

既然你的仔女不需要寄宿，你可以考慮一些私立的 day school，例如 Wimbledon 的 King’s College School。另外可以考慮 Elstree (半個鐘火車就到倫敦 Waterloo)，那裏有兩間非常好的學校 - Haberdasher Aske School for Boys 和 Haberdasher Aske School for Girls，值得推介。

King's 由 Canterbury West 一個鐘火車去到 St Pancras ，地鐵坐 Northern line 喺 London Bridge 轉 Jubilee line ，8個站到 Canary Wharf 。

日日由 Canterbury 去 Canary Wharf 都好遠，仲未計轉車等車和步行時間。
倫敦應有好多學校: Bancroft School, Forest School London, Alleyn's School London.

其實喺揾學校嘅過程，我發覺雖然道理上我哋呢啲準備成家移民嘅人係可以考independent Day School, 但實質操作上係好睇你個人幾時喺英國。
事實上，大部份local day school 只接受人在英國嘅小朋友考試。即係話如果佢係一月考試，你當時個人要喺英國先考得。
再者，有部份day school 不接受國際學生。就算你話俾佢知開學時你係拎到其他visa (不計tier 4 student visa), 佢都未必接受。最穩陣係你申請時已有visa, 咁係最好。
所以操作起上唻，如果想第一年移民過去就入到day school 係有啲難度，除非你可以隨時飛過去考啦。

我之前也在這裏請教大家，睇睇有冇可能我自己幫囝搵英國的independent day school。我哋嘅打算係搵我妹妹做 guardian (佢己在英國生活多年），囝要學校 sponsor tier 4 child student visa. 結果 email 問咗幾間，一係對overseas students 冇興趣；一係話佢哋waiting list 都好長，暗示我哋排都嘥氣。暫時我得到的感覺：英國 independent day school 收本土生都唔憂做，對海外生0興趣

你講得無錯。
英國排名高和好學校的 independent day school 真的是唔憂收不到本土學生，英國家長對教育好有要求，有 d 錢都會送小孩子去讀 independent school 呢！
因此英國很多 independent day school 不會收 T4 visa 學生，因要開多一班英文 for oversea student ，學校不想費事搞咁多嘢。

你個男仔應該可以讀到政府學校的Selective school
Hockerill Anglo-European College--唔駛錢, 住得近就派到入去, 係英國頭5最好non-selective school, GCSE A*/A 約50% (仲有IB讀)
Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet--唔駛錢(selective), 不過YEAR 5- 6月時要報名考11-plus, GCSE A*/A 約90% (就算最出名的broading school 都冇幾間好過佢)
Dame Alice Owen's School-Potters Bar--唔駛錢(部份 selective) GCSE A*/A 約69%
私校太貴我讀唔起, 但以下LINK 有介紹該區附近學校...Barnet/Potters Bar/Bishop's Stortford 治安都唔差的

我女亦打算2021年9月讀year 9 day school or weekly boarding, 我們一家會一起過去，希望待女女適應後隨她意願到時轉full boarding or not. 現正資料搜集和聯絡agent.
你之前的資料很有用，暫時覺得king's college Canterbury 不錯，希望找比較運動強，基督教及學生純樸一㸃的學校。

我女兒讀 Guildford high school for girl (day school)，是一間 independent day school，沒有設海外考入學試，不收留學生，不會經 agent並一定已經移咗民後來到英國，才能申請的。
這間女校是數一數二英國女校排名Top 5之內，理科三科成績可以敢講英國 Top 1 女校，歷年高入醫科率Top 1 女校。英國人也爭崩頭想入讀的女校。
她們每班得15/6個學生，高年級時候，五至六人小班教學。
資料來源於我老公這幾年搜集英國女校的數據和 學校open day 參觀資料。

在英國的top 10 high school 程度是不是非常高？是否女拔,st Paul co-ed 成績頂級的學生才有能力及機會入讀？
我囡囡一直美制國際學校讀書，很強基督教背景，雖然她成績很不錯但不太pushy。
所以怕太傳統嘅英制學校未必適合。
如果top 100 co-ed 又有day school 嘅基督教boarding schools，强運動，學生又純品的，你有没有推介？

我女兒來英國前，是讀香港前頭幾位 top 女校，不過我們已經來了幾年，應該不關在香港讀那一間學校事！
可以推介幾間給你。不過我給你後，最好你自己再上網 check 和睇清楚。我稍後會PM給你。
另外英國最 top 10位的學生，真的是非常 independent 和主動學習，腦筋非常 creative，一看已經知道非常聰明，分析能力也高。例如我其中參觀過的 St. Paul’s Girls’ school ，我們也不敢去考。
我女兒算聰明在讀書方面，她只是好彩考到入去讀書。而且她比較早來英國，思想和思維模式接近本地英國人呢！

最好是 yr 7入啦！一定最多位。
如果是yr8-9插班，就要email 問學校你想入讀的 yr 有沒有位了，機會不高，不過問了就有機會，連問都不問就一定無機會。
如果有位的話，學校email 約考入學試和面試，之後就睇你的小孩子有幾叻和彩數了。
另外，yr 12 她們特別開放向外面招收大約十幾個成績叻的學生作填補自己學校成績不好的學生或離開的學生。
我女兒是在 yr 12考入去，即是我所講那十幾個成績叻的學生其中一位。

根據我三個小朋友考咗咁多間學校嘅經驗，如果大家係想去一啲 selective private school, 一定準備好又做卷嘅心理
所有學校只要係7+，已經要考英文同埋數學
Comprehension, writing non verbal reasoning
Mathematics and verbal reasoning
競爭都激烈，但係我覺得只要準備好的話，而香港小朋友嘅水平，係會考到

Private school 有 selective or non selective, selective 就要考入學試，所以一定要提早準備，我之前喺香港搵個老師都幫佢準備咗一年半先至去考，好彩考到，因為年紀越大一定越嚟越難。
State school 即係好似我哋香港政府學校，入唔入到就視乎你住得近唔近間學校。
Grammar school 即係七年班開始讀，之前要考試，如果英國人就唔使俾學費。

My daughter is studying at a Grammar School in Kent. She will change to another Grammar school in Kingston Upon Thames for sixth form. The one in Kent is a state boarding school. Upcoming one - my girl will join in coming september is a day school.
You can try my girl's school in Kingston Upon Thames. It is called Tiffin Girl's School. It ranks top 5 in overall UK state schools. In Kingston Upon Thames, there is another boy school called Tiffin School. This is also a good school. ALl these - no need school fees. Hope the info will be helpful to you!

Day school唔好搵agent搞，咁就收你30000，真係發過豬頭。睇過B agent live話有咩專隊幫人申請day school，其實佢哋連boarding school申請都跟到甩甩漏漏，你估佢哋真係會有心機幫你跟啲「冇肉食」嘅day school咩？自己跟仲好啦！呢度好多願意無私分享資訊嘅家長，一定幫到手。

我找"A" agent幫手找day place. 女兒Y7最終考到幾間，兒子Y6 也有2間，其中一有埋senior school, 一般都可直上。Agent完全無收我地$. 所以day place 都可找agent 幫手的。佢地很忙，但跟得好好！

Actually you can also enroll by yourself. There was one school which I applied for Day place by myself (school within top 50 in boarding school league).
I submitted application online, make registration fee via bank, communicated with school via email, zoom interview, conduct remote entrance exam (teacher invigilating students over zoom ~ initially they asked us to sit for exam at British council, but then uk lockdown, hence zoom).Daughter got accepted & was given scholarship (scholarship interview by 4 different panels, all via zoom).
Hence, it is completely viable to apply directly by ourselves.Schools very accommodating, eg, they knew we are from hk, hence always gave us earliest time slot so that we will start exam or interview in evening.

I applied day student in Boarding school via AA or you can apply day school by yourself. The key point for day school application is that the most of schools cannot offer T4 visa.

Not all of the schools offer commission to agents for applying day school that's why some agents would charge you for application! beware of what they cover
I have been to another agent - they have a list of day school that wont charge parents. but they will charge if you apply schools that are not on the list. I think it is a fair move to tell parents which they can assist, and which cannot.
My sister applied day places in Leighton Park and Reddam House through them - didn't charge her fee

i think we use the same agent!
之前我家姐問過幾間agent，唔收錢幫人申請真係唔多。同埋好似樓主咁講，俾幾個名你就算。B agent起碼屬學校，講明邊d做到，邊d做唔到要收錢。

我嘅 agent 都冇收費,照我所知 agent 只係向學校收費用. 亦可能係不成功不收費嗰種. (Correct me if I am wrong.)
不過我嘅 agent 啲介紹唔係好啱心水,最後都係要自己落手落腳去揀學校同埋報名.
每間學校個 website 都有一個好清楚嘅 Admissions page, 應該唔難搞.就算截止咗報名,都可以畀個 email 佢哋問一問,通常都好快會有回覆.
依家我全家喺 Cambridge 落腳,我公司喺 central 倫敦.
喺英國個零鐘頭嘅 commute time 係非常非常之普遍.我有同事未 lockdown 之前每日都要用兩小時返公司.
我哋依家喺英國基本上冇乜夜生活,所以(就算依家work from home)每日六點零鐘起身根本冇難度.每朝都可以整早餐食,過去幾十年喺香港都未試過. :)

我有同樣問題⋯day school in boarding school + 仔仔大仔要插year 10, 一樣有所有agent related 的issue
