According to today's SCMP, he is further suspended so that he can't talk to inspectors from Council of International Schools. Teachers are also prohibited from talking to parents and the media on the issue... Does not look good and I can't say I'm not worried.

睇完今日Scmp，真係嚇一嚇，為怕校長亂講野，停佢職，轉頭炒埋出email的副校。

記得在Cndia讀初中的親友，佢當年入讀，係Cndis校譽、成績最低落的時候，非常易入。自此，學校越做越好，成績得來不易，希望今次順利解決。

I just copy this out from the news under lower primary. I just read today's scmp and is so shock about the incident going. I believe many potential parent of the school do concern about that and may I ask what's the view of current parent?

Definitely a shock. Hopefully the parents can pull together like last time and deal with the crisis. Looks like a more dramatic solution is needed than just replacing the Chairman though

The parent's emergency meeting was attended by about 1/10th of the parents so it may not be totally representative of the entire parent population (since it was arranged within 24 hours and working parents cannot attend a morning meeting). Many are concerned and we still can't see the whole yet, but more info were received. A full meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday in an even bigger venue, and hopefully all parties involved can share their view points by then. Actions are already set in motion to rectify the situation.

For all parents who applied to pre-reception, try again next year at reception. Never give up!

Of course there are...And this year given the bad publicity I have a feeling the chance of getting in from the waiting pool may be higher.

You may read from some posts in bk or geobaby, there were spots available for student in the wait list pool. Usually in April. My hubby's boss gal got in prep in wait list last year.

No one got offer here so far. Usually deposit due in 10 days from the date of offer. The amount is 87500 for pre reception n reception.

Just note that the number of spots for Pre Reception will increase in the coming year. The following are information from HOS:

"We are happy to report that we will be welcoming additional morning and afternoon sessions of Pre Reception. That means 40 more students will join CDNIS in our Pre Reception programme starting in August. The move doubles our current programme from 40 students to 80. For applicants applying to the 2016/2017 school year, we will be moving the cut-off date to ensure that children born between September and December are at least 3-years old at time of admission. The later cut-off date will add integrity to our admission assessments and in the long-term, ensure that the vast majority of our graduates turn 18-years old within months of graduating from CDNIS."

Yes pre reception. Reception become smaller class size with only 16 in each. Pre reception is kept at 20 each. That's what I heard.

Your kid is do bright as the spots for pre reception are only 40. Many were reserved by staff kid and siblings. Bravo!!!

When I say bad news for those applying for reception next year, that's because reception used to be the year of mass in take so some ppl wouldn't bother with applying for pre-reception. So imagine someone who didn't apply for pre-reception this year and plan to apply for reception next year, that's terrible news.

I don;t see the difference for applying reception next year but the year after. As the spots for pre-reception will be increased in next year, not this year (i mean 2015/2016) right?

Spots for pre-reception will be increased THIS year 2015-16 onwards, so there are less spots for reception next year.

Congratulations Wallaby, Shabushabu & Wylieming! My boy is two years senior, going into Prep next year. If you have any inquiries feel free to PM me :)

I suggest that you guys can set up a What's app group within your grade. I did that last year when we first entered CDNIS. It is very beneficial for the kids to know others ahead of time, and get in touch with various moms even if they end up in different classes.

Welcome to the family, although at the moment we have some in-house family conflicts to take care of

As of this year, PM class starts 11:50am and AM class starts 7:50am. Do note that during rush hours the school buses usually take quite a while to reach their destinations even within HK island, so AM students need to wake up quite early. AM class is attractive for younger kids who are still napping, and PM class is good for kids who are learning to take care of themselves (you cannot rush a 3-year-old learning to button his shirt).
Last year after looking at the bus schedule, I decided to change my AM offer to PM as well. My 4-year-old son can now put on his full uniform (including underwear, shirt & socks) all by himself without help. That's something only ample time in the morning would allow. However, for a child who still needs a nap, sleep (neural development) outweights all other advantages.

As for questions about the recent happenings, I still see it as a family issue (until we resolve it then we can announce the outcome to the public). I guess I can join your what's app group for a short time to explain. I will PM Wylie if that's okay for me to 'intrude' :)
