personally I am not attracted to this school
it is govt school so don't help in P1 even you study their kinder (unless you got 30 marks)
In the app form, it explicity stated they use 淺易英文和普通話 .. scared me... so language wise nothing attractive also - no language environment
Apart from 学卷 no need to pay, I cannot find anything outstanding for this school
just my personal opinion

my girl could answer all questions asked by the teacher in part 1
when my girl met the principle, she was so fierce, no smile and my girl intentionally answered all wrongly
why treat kids like that I don't understand... this school is not even top tier

Same feeling. And when the principal ask from the 3 diagrams which one being bear, two are bears actually! She quickly followed up and mentioned it needs to be same as the story book. I do think it is difficult for kids to response so quickly.

When my girl doesn't like somebody.. She will say all opposite.. She really dislikes the principal
The teachers are ok nice and kind
If my girl is placed there I don't know what will happen to her... Bad childhood experience

我今日都in 完，其實趙校長都好似其他學校校長咁，佢都好盡責地見每一個小朋友(唔係間間學校都要見校長)，見左咁多人都保持笑容，算係咁啦。佢作最後把關，睇下收邊個，都想保証自己小學的學生有一定質素。夠專業!😊

The one we are discussing here is called St Stephen's Girls' College Kindergarten. Its secondary school is top band one. The one in Stanley only has primary school and secondary school.

趙校長很愛錫每一個學生，亦清楚每一個學生。她是比較嚴肅和有威嚴，但是有笑容的。若她選了你孩子入ssgk，而家長和學生也dedicated（不一定要好叻，但要盡心盡力），若派不到ssgps時，她會盡力幫你叩門入。
課程是淺，但是不只要求做得到而是要做得好。小朋友番學好開心的。

my kid can point out the bear and the principal but i dun think the atmosphere and the attitude is good in there.
also i observe that the attitude of the Secretary is fair as when she heard the voice of a child who do not speak well and a bit strange then she shows a facial expression which is 歉棄的表情。

我個女上年做啱哂，even 老師嗰 part 也啱哂，最後 waiting 。但我明白校長係想收啲父母可以比多啲時間培養小朋友，及住得近嘅家庭。我明白校長用心良苦，做啱哂未必收，唔啱亦未必唔收。小朋友鐘唔鐘意校長亦係緣份，interview 都係互相 matching 嘅一個 progress

Agree. 收吾收都係講緣份
SSGC是要家長放好多時間同小朋友搵習，而且學校提供好多講座給家長了解小朋友成長及學習。所以如能配合學校相信小朋友會道過開心快樂幼稚園生活！
另外SSGC課程其實不算太淺，只是比較著重學生自理及獨立能力。

趙校長真係一個好勤力的校長, 事事親力親為, 佢亦好清楚每一位學生的情況。我個人好欣賞趙校長的活力!至於interview, 我覺得對普遍2歲多的小朋友是深的, 但學校亦願意於每一位小朋友身上起碼花10分鐘, 讓小朋友有機會發揮, 相對其他學校只花 2 - 3 分鐘, 呢個真係好fair 的interview!!
SSGCKG 好著重培育學生閱讀及音樂的修養, 個人修行不是一朝一夕培養出來, 是要家校有共同理念, 一起培養出來的。
從來面試都係一個channel俾機會去了解及認識, 最終大家都係想揾最合適的比自己小朋友。教得深定淺覺有所需。希望大家都揾到心儀及合適的學校。

this is my personal feeling and experience as a parent here
the principal is most dedicated and loving. she knows each and every of her student well. she knows their strengths, weaknesses and characters, and will dedicate to help them improve. teachers are caring and they focus not only on academic but, more importantly, personal development and growth of each student. it is true that the school would not force upon kids overly difficult stuffs, and you can be guaranteed "happy learning" here. students just LOVE the school , love going to school, and love going to school to learn. For me, that is what matters as it is an important foundation. whilst the school is not pushy in terms of "straight-academic", they are firm and determined in making sure that the kids acquired the right "attitude". this is what matters. by way of example, kids are not taught to write overly difficult chinese words, but the school would insist that they write it nicely, properly and seriously. Attitude is what matters. Love of reading and music appreciation are given great importance here. If parents co-operate with the school well, kids will turn out well-mannered, well-behaved, confident and, most importantly, with the right attitude towards both learning and life ahead.
In terms of language environment, it is true that cantonese is the prime focus, but i would say it is getting increasingly well over the years. there are only 6 classes in the whole school splitting into am and pm classes, i.e. only 3 classes in the morning, and 3 in the afternoon. but they have altogether 12 teachers (inclusive of 2 ENG net, and 1 Mandarin NET) which is not bad i would say. (though it is also true that you will need tutorials outside if you want your kids to excel in languages).
just thought it would be good to give a more balanced view on the school from first-hand experience. A few minutes' encounter during an interview might not show you the full picture.

Can't agree anymore. I just want to say some words for the principal. She is really dedicated and willing to spend time to each applicants which is so time consuming for principal. I believed the reason why she insisted to do it since she wants to give chance to every child and try know each of her students at the beginning stage. There are no other principal like her spending so much time in interview.
And for the school curriculum , although it is not so difficult as some " first-tier" kindergartens, but I really appreciate their belief . They aim at training up the learning attitude and reading interest of the child. This is not only a " selling point" or " decroation" , but they insist to do it and do it every day , every month and every occasion. It is not a easy work for all teachers and for school management, but they can do it.
I am so happy that my girl has the opportunity to have this happy school life . Up to now , in terms of knowledge , may be she is not in the top-tier, but I am so happy that she has been built up a good reading habit and high motivation to learn which is much more importance than just know the knowledge. Hope my personal experience can give a balance view of SSGCK and the Principal.

趙校長在K2尾單獨接見每一對父母(60對遂對見），傾談小學自行和統一派位選校（因應女兒性格），並對父母的直資及私立選校提意見。交統一派位前又再見一次，統一派位派不到又再見面討論叩門計劃。我相信應沒有其他幼稚園校長會花那麼多時間向每對家長提意見。
她很愛鍚她的「仔仔女女」，希望他們每個也有令她放心的「好歸宿」。

My daughter finished the interview last week and the school gave me a quite good overall impression.
As mentioned by many of you, the teacher in 1st part was nice and patient. With regard to the principal, I didn’t feel she was fierce though she didn’t smiling much, she was just serious in choosing the right candidates to her school.
Some of the questions were really not easy for a 2 years old kid but I don’t think they are looking for a kid who can answer all questions. They are looking for the kids with the right manner and attitude, at least will try the best to answer the questions. My daughter had interaction with both the teacher and the principal during the interview. Although she could not provide right answers to all questions of the principal, I felt that the principal were leading her to give correct answers.
Further, I was impressed by the interview questions. They were not routine questions like others but creative which aiming at finding out smart kids. I think they have spent a lot of time in designing the questions since they are quite all-rounded.

我一向都知道這是一所非常好的學校, 在我心目中比赤柱的那所學校好得多, 無論是比較學術, 音樂或校風, 只不過現今很多家長認為赤柱的是直資, 學費貴, 一定係超班的學校。我不是說赤柱的不好, 只是比較上中西區這所女校好得多, 但他們很低調, 所以不是很多家長知道。
我當年也有帶女兒考這所幼稚園, 但好可惜她也怕趙枚長的威嚴, 最後我不想她讀得不開心, 所以放棄了。如果早一點聽到這個帖內的資料, 可能我的決定會與當天不同。

我有親戚的女兒在此校就讀,家庭聚会有其他說英文的同齡小朋友,對答方面顯得不自然自信不足欠通暢.

If you focus in English, you may consider private schools like Victoria or international school like esf, kcis etc. I believe ssgk focus on student's moral training and religious studies more than academic and language training. There's no perfect school, but most suitable for your daughter. For me, I focus more on religious studies and moral training especially for girl, so I transferred my daughter to shck k1 from victoria bilingual pn.

小學是中文小學, 英文教得淺唔出奇, 不過好多同學自幼稚園已經在外補英文, 其實班裏面流利英文的同學都唔少. 出唔出外補是個人選擇.
