Same as last year 2 girls as a group to walk inside the room.  Parents await at the outside.

Acc. to my girl there are 2 teachers and Mrs Dai inside the room.

B4 starting teacher asked the girls to throw dice to determine who go first.  Qs are mainly asked by teacher.  Mrs Dai asked my girl few questions at the end.

The whole process is about 15 mins.

Mrs Dai will bring the kids in and out of the room.  She only looked at me but without look at my husband.  During both time I felt she looked at me quite serious instead of only catch a glimpse of the parents.  So I think to dress descently and parents also well prepare (I mean outlook presentation) might be important.

But it seems a bit strange that during the whole selection process (1st + 2nd in) no spoken English is tested. But DG is an English school.

But the worksheet is written, and the poem is read by the whole group together. Supposingly the kids' spoken English can only be tested during one to one conversation. I know many schools like TSL, SMC, GH ..... test kids via English conversation. It is surprising that DG does not test this .......

The first language of my daughter is English but she said that she is being interviewed in Cantonese only.

The whole process is short (10 mins only) and just several questions had been asked. However, my daughter said she is interviewed by Mrs. Dai while the other one is interviewed by teacher only. After that, both of them could leave. Anyone can confirm that our girls are interviewed by principal + teacher or either one only?

Her first language is cantonese.

The final result will be announced by letter on 21st Dec.

my daughter's interview time slot is in pm. we wait for around 40 mins before interview. the interview took 10 mins only.

So, do u know what would happen if those offered girls fail to the english test? Would they lose their seat? If no, it seems meaningless / too late for the purpose of knowing how engilish level of the girls are.

Then there is no need to wait inside the room? Last year someone said that one girl had to wait and read a book. How about this year?

We are unrelated.

My daughter said she needs to take turns to interview with the teacher (with another candidate) During interim she read a book " The king's new clothes".

At the end of the interview, Mrs Dai interviewed her and asked her few questions.

阿囡係1/Nov見架, 係校長親自接兩個小朋友及送佢哋出嚟, 所以我以為係見校長, 但今日再問阿囡, 原來房內有個人(我唔知是老師or副校), 而阿囡都只有這個人問問題, 佢話入到房校長就同佢哋講:等老師問問題嘅小朋友可以先睇書! 跟住老師問完兩個, 校長無再問嘢就帶佢哋出嚟喇!

見有些面試後的家長在這裡講的情況，好像有些不同，有些先見老師答問題再見校長答小量問題，另有一些媽媽說校長沒有向小朋友發問任何問題便帶他們出去了...何解程序不一樣呢？

today I saw CCKG uniform again. Seems this year many CCKG student can pass to the 2nd interview

Just guess, the interview date is randomly choosen or based on 1st interview result...... (Some schools interview date is based on 1st interview result) Just a guess only

No coz I handed it together with the application form, this was the instruction of the application. Additional information only can contain 4 pages (assume all of us called portfolio), I didn't want to waste any space.

不敢當, 小女只是普通孩子, 沒有repeat.

那一樣機會大些很難講, 每年報考的人都很多, 我比較覺得運氣都重要, 我囡囡只是有點運氣吧, 她性格比較明朗活潑, 可能符合了女拔的要求. 我不敢講機會會不會大些, 因為除了老師, 不敢講我真的了解收生標準.

Just finished interview. When I was registering I saw the list, 4 girls scheduled for each 20 min time slot, with some 15 min breaks in between for Mrs dai. Today only mrs dai was in the room.

Yes the girls go in in pairs, and their parents sit outside the room to wait.

Mine took about 15 minutes, but we waited for about 45 minutes before it was my daughter's turn. So the whole process took 1 hour.

I think Mrs. Dai really pays attention to the K2 report card, because when I registered my grl, they took out the original K2 report card from all the original documents, and then clipped it to the TOP of the pile of application documents that went in with the girls when they were interviewed by Mrs. Dai.

Hi thtb, seems that you are worrying about your daughter will be intereviewed in Cantonese cause her first language is English? Does she can't say or understand any Cantonese? I will say Chinese become more and more important in DGJS nowadays. If your daughter did not know any of that, it will be very difficult for her to catch up. Also, I did not notice any current year P1 student who can't really read / say any Chinese / Cantonese even they are mix.

You said you waited for 45 mins before the interview. Does it mean the previous sessions over-run? Or you arrived earlier than schedule?

Did the 4 girls all enter the same room to meet Mrs Dai (divided by 2 pairs)? Or some of them enter other room?

我不是擔心面試是中文還是英文, 只是聽早前的家長提及過都是用中文面試的, 就算 first language is English. 其實經過 1st in 都知道小朋友識唔識中文.

I arrived exactly 10 minutes before the scheduled interview time, which was the instruction given in the letter. The previous sessions had overrun, that's why we ended up having to wait 45 minutes.

There are always 2 pairs of parents sitting right outside the headmistress' office while their daughters are in the room being interviewed. At the same time 2 other girls with their parents will be sitting next to those 2 pairs of parents waiting to go in next.

So at any given time, there will be 4 pairs of parents and 2 girls waiting outside the headmistress' office.

I think they have changed a bit of the interview format this year. Last year, if you choose your first language is English, both 1st interview and 2nd interview were conducted in English, no Cantonese at all. But it seems it is not the case this year. Hope this information can help you. Thanks.

係某一期既親子王有講過(訪問戴校長)，1st int 係唔會睇小朋友既成績表及portfolio，只會計面試成績，當你既小朋友入咗2nd int ，先會睇。
所以係2nd int 時，校長會好仔細咁睇你既小朋友既成績表及portfolio 。傾吓講吓，我估係想確認個小朋友係DG 想收個類小朋友。

Actually, so far for all my friends whose girls have had their DGJS second in, there were never any academic questions. I think mrs. Dai is just trying to get a sense how the girl interacts with people, as the interview only lasts a few minutes for each girl.

個人估計，第一次面試已有初步成績，所以並非每組選1，2個。第二次面試加上第一次面試分數決定收生。所以第二次面試時間有可能反映出生月份或首次面試成績

昨天早上我們等了差不多一個小時，看了3－4本書，女兒才去見校長（只有校長一個），用了10分鐘！那時剛好小息，學生都很活潑，還去遊樂設備開心地玩，那鞦韆蕩得很高，多希望明年在那裡蕩鞦韆的就是自己的女兒！
