Oh, then really don't know how they arrange it. From newspaper, know that they have received 1800 applications this year. It takes the principal two months to interview all applicants from Oct to Nov.

It is heard that the interview schedule is set in accordance with girls' age. Those elder among the applicants will have the interview at the earlier period.

Hi, my daughter will also have interview on 16 Oct and herno. is 50x. What a coincidence! I submitted the form on 11/9 after lunch. Seems that this year, the school won't interview big girls and CCKG girls first (they did so last year). These are some of the interview dates I've heard of:
9 Oct - girl born in Sep
16 Oct - my daughter born in July
23 Oct - girl born in April
29 Oct - CCKG girl (not sure of DOB)

大家靠估都無用架, 我同另一位朋友都係最後果日下午2:00去交請表, 兩個小朋友都讀同一間幼稚園, 兩個2002年3月差左24小時出生, 我地兩個都有得interview, 係10月29日, 大家都係上午, 大家都係#8xx, 有乜甘奇怪呀, in 完睇下點先啦, 安排先in 既小朋友又吾會代表一定得架馬, 同樣越遲in 既小朋友我又吾會覺得一定吾得呀. 都未in 就打沉自己...唉! 心情放鬆少少當係比小朋友一個體驗, 即使失敗左咪當係玩下囉, 佢地一定有書讀架馬.

but they should have asked you to take away excess pages at the time of submission so you wouldn't be able to hand in 10 pages.

me too, the lady collecting the form told me that the interview notice should be received b4 3 oct. if do not receive by then, will have to call the school.

不知是否這樣, 學校先 short form 後, 先出信約見第一批學生, 第一批學生當然是跟據住址,幼稚園的學校, 父母職業(是否專業, 老闆... etc.)去界定, 因校長是會親自接見每位學生的. 之後再出信見第二批學生. 如此類推. 聽聞是會接見所有學生的, 但要等信. 如沒有更改, 學校要等一月才有結果的. 如我沒有記錯, 由10月開始見到11月都有, 12月就唔知有無啦!

早幾年有個訪問,佢講過會見晒所有既申請人...........到目前為止,都未聽過有人無得見

呢幾年睇到,細女特別遲見,同一日交表,但有個朋友係十月頭,另一個係十月尾,細女仲十一月添,大家都估越早見越有機,但梗係唔係收硬啦,會有機會遲見都收,我諗面試好outstanding掛

還是最大機會的係最後呀??? 因為佢既至愛cckg都係好後先面試喎(以暫時在此topic所見資料).

其實要scan晒2000份都唔係太難的若只係得一個條件, 如: 父團職業/住址/kinder等. 2個人, 一人一日1000份, 一個上午500份, 若做4個鐘頭, 1小時都係做125份, ok啦. 只係睇一個item既話.
我覺得scan過既話, 校長可以唔駛長期(2個月)都處於最高狀態去尋人嘛, 因為真係好辛苦的呀, 不停咁見人.

不過都係個句啦..........who knows!!!! 按今年既資料, 其實都幾似係randow的, 只係我地係都要覺得佢有偏好收生, 所以咪係都覺得佢scan過d form攞.

DGJS小一家長係8月27日briefing session先需要交學費和書簿費. 如果要放棄其中一間, 8月27日點都決定咗啦!

Yes, you're right. DGJS is a private school. Theoretically, you can still join POA. But in practice, DGJS will "request" you to give up. Will you take the risk???

我絕對相信校方是有將2000份申請表作初步shortlist!
試想想校長真的會in完2000個小朋友之後,再從2000份表格內選出105位入選佳麗嗎?
這樣做法末免太辛苦校長了.
其實,每間學校必有其收生標準, 例如:
1.選數間名校幼稚園畢業生,e.g CCKG,St.Cat, 根德園..etc, 可能校方會覺得那幾間名幼稚園的
學生質數有保証,學術(如中英文)程度較高,可順利函接P1.
2.家庭背景: 父母的職業, 若父親工作有高及穩定收入, 而母親又可全職做主婦,就可以很進小朋友做家課,
以應付浸重的工課壓力!
3.多才多藝, 校方除學術要求要勁之外, 才藝(e.g swimming etc)都有好高要求,小朋友有這方面天才
或訓練, 定會加分!
4. 校方一向喜歡大女.
以下也是本人推測, 並非事實, 只可作討論, 請勿當真:
校方可以收齊2000份表格後,分派比10個8個工作人員, 將申請人分為4組, A組(1-500), B組(501-1000),
C組(1001-1500), D組(1501-2000). 完全符合以上４點的入A組, 符合其中3點入B組, 如此類推.
到真正interview時,校長只需集中精神從頭500名(或更少)中選出105位就可以了, 其餘的1500次interview,
當係同小朋友傾下計,玩下遊戲,輕輕鬆鬆就可以了.
可能因為要"公平",所以校長是會接見所以申請者, 但要記住校方必有其收生標準!
舉例說, 我到街市買橙, 檔主以經將3種不同的橙分開放, A(12元3個), B(10元4個), C(10元6個), 我心裹只
對A有興趣, 因檔主以經將3種分開放, 我只會走到A前,選出3個我認為最好的就可以, 不需要將ABC全部看一
次先至選出3個A grade的橙, 對嗎?

Your opinion is just the same of mine. DGS should have
their own policy for the "suitable" applicants. So all of us, just take it easy and relax.

Mrs Dai didn't touch the form before the applicant enter the headmistress room.
分派比10個8個工作人員---No, only 3 partime this year mainly to arrange the order of the form. (3 young boy/girl abut 2x).

Big girl is not a must, I know 3 girls born in the end of Dec in one class.
多才多藝--of course good, but even some p3/ p4 girls can't swimming, they use float during swimming lesson.
全職做主婦----not more than 60%.

Hi Sugarbunny,

Is there any difference of having the interview earlier or later? Is it that having earlier interview would have higher chance? Last year, the daughters of old girls were having interview at an earlier stage. Please comment.

My daugher is a P1 student in DGJS this year, she is an
old girl from KV.  In my experience, Mrs. Dai likes to
choose confident and outspoken girls.  She will give
all kind of questions and see how well those applicants
are able to analyse and answer. Second, I do think
Mrs Dai did reveiw all file and see parents' background
whether or not girls are suitable for the school.
My daugher have many classmates are from CCKG, some
from St Catherine and KV.    I personally think she like
choose girls from top KG and their parents are
professionals.    I saw some girls' parents are doctor
lawyers or professional.

Please relax and teach your girls to prepare for the
interview and give the best.

Thanks for your sharing. With your successful case, could you please share how did you prepare your daughter for the interview? Also, are you a working mom or housewife?

Besides, what kind of questions did Mrs. Dai asked during the interview? Was there any picture description and 看圖排列故事? Many thanks.
